Position Summary
Palm House is seeking a Seasonal AM Server who brings warmth, professionalism, and attentive service to the morning dining experience. From the first cup of coffee to the final farewell, this role helps guests begin their day feeling welcomed and well cared for.
The ideal candidate is passionate about hospitality, confident in making menu recommendations, and attentive to the details that make service feel personal. You will work closely with the culinary and service teams to deliver an enjoyable, well-paced dining experience that reflects Palm House's luxury standards.
This is a seasonal position anticipated to run from October through May. Employment is expected to conclude at the end of the seasonal period.
Key Responsibilities
Guest Experience & Dining Service
  • Welcome guests promptly with a warm greeting and professional presence.
  • Present menus, explain daily offerings, and make thoughtful recommendations.
  • Take food and beverage orders accurately and communicate them promptly through the point-of-sale system.
  • Coordinate food and beverage delivery, ensuring accuracy and appropriate timing.
  • Anticipate guest needs, replenish beverages, and maintain tables throughout the meal.
  • Adapt service to accommodate both leisurely dining and guests with limited time.
  • Address guest concerns with care and involve a manager when needed.

Menu Knowledge & Dietary Requests
  • Maintain knowledge of menu items, ingredients, preparation methods, and available modifications.
  • Provide knowledgeable guidance on breakfast selections, coffee, tea, juices, and other beverages.
  • Communicate allergies and dietary restrictions clearly and follow established procedures.
  • Confirm ingredient and preparation questions with the culinary team.
  • Follow hotel procedures for responsible alcohol service when applicable.

Dining Room Preparation & Care
  • Complete opening duties to ensure the dining room is ready before breakfast service.
  • Inspect table settings, menus, glassware, and utensils for cleanliness and presentation.
  • Keep service stations organized and stocked throughout the shift.
  • Work with Server Assistants to clear and reset tables efficiently.
  • Complete assigned side work and support a smooth transition between meal periods.
  • Maintain hotel standards for grooming, cleanliness, and sanitation.

Teamwork & Operational Accuracy
  • Review checks and process cash, card, and room-charge payments accurately.
  • Follow payment security and cash-handling procedures.
  • Communicate clearly with Hosts, Server Assistants, Culinary, and beverage teams.
  • Attend pre-shift briefings and training sessions.
  • Share guest preferences and outstanding requests with the appropriate colleagues.
  • Uphold Palm House service standards and Forbes-aligned dining practices.
