Bluffview Montessori School, a public charter school in Winona, MN, is seeking a dependable and service-oriented Food Service Assistant to support our school meal program during the 20262027 academic year. This position is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a collaborative environment and is committed to the health and well-being of children.

As a Montessori school, we emphasize independence, responsibility, and care for the environmentand that includes the food we serve. The Food Service Assistant plays a key role in helping deliver nutritious, high-quality meals in a way that supports these values and meets all regulatory standards.

Position Summary

Under the direction of the Food Service Lead, the Food Service Assistant helps with meal preparation, cooking, serving, and cleanup in accordance with health and safety guidelines. This role supports the smooth and efficient operation of the schools daily meal service while contributing to a positive dining experience for all students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in preparing and cooking meals that meet state, federal, and school nutrition guidelines.
  • Support meal setup, serving, and cleanup, ensuring food safety and sanitation standards are maintained.
  • Help maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming kitchen and cafeteria environment.
  • Monitor food inventory and assist in restocking supplies as needed.
  • Work collaboratively with the Food Service Lead and other staff.
  • Demonstrate a respectful and caring attitude toward students.
Qualifications

Required:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • ServSafe Certification (or ability to obtain).
