Support department through assisting customers and ensuring shelves are well stocked and maintained.
About Prairie Food Co-op

Essential Job Duties
  • Receive and inspect incoming products for quality and accuracy
  • Replenish and rotate displays, culling several times daily
  • Follow stocking priorities set by Produce Manager
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstation, backroom, and storage areas
  • Follow greens program as instructed by Produce Manager
  • Ability to answer customer questions in a friendly, courteous manner
  • Date and rotate back stock to minimize waste
  • Relays information to diverse groups

Additional Duties
  • Assists in special projects, assists in other departments as needed, and performs other duties as assigned

Requirements
Essential Mental & Physical Requirements
  • Works with guidance from Department Manager
  • Performs a limited number of tasks as dictated by department demands
  • Ability to read and understand invoices and product tags and learn established organizational systems
  • Standing for long periods, bending, walking, reaching, and sitting
  • Ability to climb up and down stepladders and stairs daily
  • Able to lift and carry up 50 lbs. as needed throughout the day
  • Ability to use tools and equipment including box cutters, stepladders, and pallet jacks

Experience and Educational Requirements
  • There are no educational requirements, though grocery, produce, or natural foods experience is a plus.

Other Qualifications
  • Ability to safely and successfully perform essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA & other federal, state & local standards - including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards
  • Ability to maintain reasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA & other federal, state and local standards
  • Compliance with all personnel policies
