What is a food co?

A Food Co, short for Food Cooperative, is a member-owned and operated grocery store or organization that focuses on providing healthy, sustainable, and often locally-sourced food options to the community. Members typically have a say in the management and operations of the cooperative, and may receive discounts or other benefits. Food Coops prioritize ethical sourcing, transparency, and community involvement, distinguishing themselves from traditional supermarkets.
