Work Schedule: 100% Onsite, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM

About Our Client:

Addison Group is partnering with a well-established Chicago-based law firm to identify a Floating Legal Assistant. The firm offers long-term career stability, competitive benefits, and the opportunity to support multiple legal practice groups across the organization.

 

Job Description:

The Floating Legal Assistant will provide administrative and legal support across various practice areas within the firm. This individual will work closely with attorneys and legal staff, assisting with document preparation, client communications, billing support, file management, and other legal administrative functions.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and maintain new client and matter files with accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Draft, edit, proofread, and format legal documents, correspondence, and reports.
  • Assist with engagement letters and client onboarding documentation.
  • Coordinate certified mailings and track delivery records.
  • Support billing activities, including invoice preparation and time entry review.
  • Maintain organized electronic and physical legal files.
  • Communicate professionally with clients, courts, vendors, and internal stakeholders.
  • Track deadlines and ensure timely completion of legal support tasks.
  • Provide administrative assistance to attorneys and legal teams as needed.
  • Serve as a flexible resource supporting multiple practice groups throughout the firm.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Legal Billing Experience
  • 3–5 years of Legal Assistant and/or Paralegal experience.
  • Prior litigation experience required.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Outlook, and Excel.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
