About Us
Heidelberg Materials is one of the world's largest suppliers of building materials. Heidelberg Materials North America operates over 450 locations across the U.S. and Canada with approximately 9,000 employees.
Position Summary
The Central Production Control Specialist is an office-based role that uses centralized system-based tools to direct and manage production control across multiple ready-mix plants. This role sets batching priorities, manages production sequencing, and responds to real-time operational exceptions to support service levels, product consistency, and efficient resource use. This role partners closely with plant, dispatch, and quality teams to align production activities, while on-site teams execute physical operations.
This role provides centralized production control direction and does not perform physical plant operations.
What You'll Be Doing
  • Set and manage batching priorities and production sequencing across multiple ready-mix plants to align with demand, capacity, and operational constraints
  • Monitor production conditions and system performance, making real-time adjustments to maintain throughput, service levels, and product consistency
  • Identify and resolve production disruptions, capacity constraints, and sequencing conflicts across multiple locations
  • Administer Command Cloud (or equivalent) batching systems to support accurate, consistent, and compliant production control
  • Monitor system alerts and performance trends, taking action to maintain continuity, quality, and compliance
  • Partner with plant, dispatch, and quality teams to communicate production priorities and align batching decisions with scheduling needs, plant readiness, and quality requirements
  • Analyze production data, KPIs, and system outputs to identify trends, issues, and improvement opportunities
  • Generate reports and provide insights to support planning, escalation, and operational visibility
  • Recommend process and system improvements to enhance efficiency, consistency, and resource utilization

What We Are Looking For
  • 3-5+ years of experience in ready-mix, dispatch, production control, logistics coordination, or a similar multi-site operational environment
  • Ability to prioritize competing demands, make sound decisions, and react quickly in a fast-paced setting
  • Experience working cross-functionally and influencing stakeholders without direct authority
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret operational data and apply business rules effectively
  • Proficiency with batching systems, dispatch tools, ERP platforms, or cloud-based production systems
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to clearly convey priorities and coordinate across teams
  • High level of attention to detail and ability to maintain consistency and accuracy in system-driven environments

Work Environment
  • Office-based central operations center
  • Multi-screen monitoring and system-based control environment
  • No physical plant operation or equipment handling

What We Offer
  • Competitive base salary
  • 401(k) retirement savings plan with an automatic company contribution as well as matching contributions
  • Highly competitive benefits programs, including:
    • Medical, Dental, and Vision along with Prescription Drug Benefits
    • Health Savings Account (HSA), Health Reimbursement Account (HRA) and Flexible Spending Account (FSA)
    • AD&D, Short- and Long-Term Disability Coverage as well as Basic Life Insurance
    • Paid Bonding Leave, 15 days of Paid Vacation, 56 hours of Paid Sick Leave and 10 Paid Holidays
