Leidos’ Defense Systems Manufacturing is seeking a Senior Production Control Manager to join our a diverse team that is standardizing production processes across multiple sites in North Alabama. 
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and highly organized Senior Production Control Manager to lead and manage production control operations at our Colorado Manufacturing Facility in a specialized machining center manufacturing environment. This role is critical in ensuring the seamless execution of build plans, coordination of materials, and alignment of manufacturing execution with customer and program schedules. The ideal candidate will bring a deep understanding of Engineer-to-Order and/or Make-to-Order environments, material planning, shop floor control, and government contract compliance.

Primary Responsibilities  

The Production Control Manager will have the opportunity to work with a collaborative team to support our nations war fighters. This role will serve as the manager for production control activities at the Colorado Manufacturing Facility (CMF) in support of Hypersonics and other DoD Programs. This role will need to work closely with site leadership to align the production activities and work collaboratively with other sites to support downstream needs. Responsibilities include:

  • Provide strategic leadership for the site’s production control team, overseeing planning, scheduling, work order management, material availability, and schedule adherence across all active programs.
  • Collaborate closely with Program Management, Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, and Manufacturing to align production activities with contract and delivery requirements.
  • Develop and maintain build schedules, Line of Balance charts, integrated master schedules, and production milestones in coordination with Master Scheduling and Project Planning teams.
  • Ensure timely release of work orders, material kits, and integration packages to meet contractual delivery commitments.
  • Lead integration of production control processes across departments and enforce standard practices for Plan-for-Every-Part data management, WIP tracking, and change control.
  • Coordinate movement of parts, subassemblies, and finished products across internal work centers and suppliers.
  • Monitor WIP status and drive resolution of shortages, delays, or capacity constraints through proactive escalation and collaboration.
  • Maintain data accuracy in ERP systems (e.g., Deltek Costpoint), ensuring correct project, WBS, and inventory alignment.
  • Drive continuous improvement in production control processes, metrics, and visibility tools (e.g., dashboards, Power BI).
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, DOD regulations, and contract requirements (e.g., DPAS, CSDR, EVMS).

Basic Qualifications  

  • Bachelor’s degree in Operations Management, Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering, or related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
  • 8+ years of experience in production control, materials planning, or manufacturing operations in a complex build environment.
  • 4+ years in a supervisory or management role in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong working knowledge of ERP/MRP systems (preferably Deltek Costpoint).
  • Experience supporting ETO/MTO programs with multi-level BOMs and WBS structures.
  • Proven leadership in cross-functional coordination and shop floor execution.
  • U.S. Citizen with ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance if required.
  • Candidate must be a resident of Colorado Springs, CO or be willing to relocate.

Preferred Qualifications

  • APICS certification (CPIM or CSCP).
  • Experience in defense manufacturing or aerospace/space sectors.
  • Familiarity with EVMS, MIL-STD processes, and DFARS requirements.
  • Familiarity with Advanced Planning and Scheduling (APS) software (preferably Dynafact DMS)
  • Proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools (Excel, Power BI, SQL, etc.)
