Summary: The Senior Production Control Analyst is responsible for supporting and coordinating complex factory execution activities by maintaining accurate visibility of work-in-process (WIP), production status, constraints, holds, priorities, and manufacturing transactions. This role serves as the senior technical resource within Production Control and acts as a critical link between the approved production plan and live factory execution.

Working closely with Program Planning, Manufacturing, Purchasing, Engineering, Quality, and Supply Chain, the Senior Production Control Analyst analyzes production conditions, identifies execution risks, coordinates resolution of factory constraints, and provides timely and accurate production information that supports planning decisions, recovery actions, schedule attainment, and customer delivery commitments.

Essential Functions:

  • Coordinate daily production control activities across assigned production areas by monitoring work order status, WIP, production priorities, holds, constraints, and completion progress.
  • Maintain an accurate and timely view of factory execution and communicate production status, risks, constraints, and changes to Planning, Manufacturing, and other applicable stakeholders.
  • Analyze WIP, schedule attainment, throughput, WIP aging, production status, and manufacturing constraints to identify execution risks and escalate issues requiring cross-functional action.
  • Coordinate resolution of complex production constraints involving material availability, engineering changes, quality issues, manufacturing conditions, and work order requirements.
  • Support factory recovery execution by coordinating approved priority changes, tracking actions and constraints, and communicating progress and execution impacts to Planning and Supply Chain.
  • Monitor and validate ERP/MRP transactions, work order activity, production reporting, inventory movements, and related manufacturing data to maintain transaction accuracy and reliable production information.
  • Investigate production control discrepancies and transaction issues, identify root causes, and coordinate corrective actions to improve data integrity and manufacturing execution.
  • Monitor inventory and WIP accuracy associated with production activity and coordinate reconciliation or correction of discrepancies with Inventory Control, Manufacturing, Planning, and other appropriate functions.
  • Analyze production performance metrics, WIP trends, throughput, schedule attainment, transaction accuracy, and operational data to identify opportunities for improved factory execution.
  • Develop and communicate production status reports, WIP analyses, constraint summaries, execution metrics, and other production control information to support operational and management decision-making.
  • Support New Product Introduction (NPI), engineering changes, product transfers, and manufacturing readiness activities by coordinating production control and execution requirements.
  • Serve as the Production Control subject matter expert by mentoring Production Control Analysts, providing technical guidance, and promoting consistent production control and ERP transaction practices.
  • Lead or support continuous improvement initiatives focused on production visibility, transaction accuracy, WIP management, manufacturing flow, production control processes, and operational efficiency.
  • Ensure production control activities comply with company procedures, customer requirements, inventory controls, quality requirements, and established manufacturing processes.

Competencies:

  • Advanced Production Control: Ability to coordinate complex production control activities and maintain accurate visibility of factory execution, production priorities, WIP, and manufacturing status.
  • Manufacturing Execution: Ability to monitor live production activity, identify execution issues, and coordinate cross-functional actions that support efficient manufacturing flow.
  • Work Order Management: Ability to monitor work order status, execution progress, priorities, holds, and completion activity while maintaining accurate production information.
  • Work-in-Process (WIP) Management: Ability to analyze WIP status, aging, constraints, and production flow and identify conditions requiring escalation or corrective action.
  • Production Status & Constraint Management: Ability to identify manufacturing constraints, evaluate execution impacts, and communicate timely and accurate information to Planning and operational stakeholders.
  • ERP & Transaction Accuracy: Ability to monitor, validate, and troubleshoot production transactions and manufacturing data to support accurate inventory, WIP, and execution visibility.
  • Production Performance Analysis: Ability to analyze schedule attainment, throughput, WIP trends, production status, and execution metrics to identify operational risks and improvement opportunities.
  • Inventory & WIP Accuracy: Ability to identify and coordinate resolution of inventory and WIP discrepancies associated with production execution and transaction activity.
  • Problem Solving: Ability to investigate complex production control and execution issues, determine root causes, and coordinate effective corrective actions.
  • Technical Leadership: Ability to mentor Production Control Analysts, provide technical guidance, and serve as a subject matter expert for production control processes and systems.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Ability to work effectively with Planning, Manufacturing, Purchasing, Engineering, Quality, Inventory Control, and Supply Chain to support factory execution and customer commitments.
  • Continuous Improvement: Ability to lead or support initiatives that improve production visibility, transaction accuracy, WIP management, manufacturing flow, and production control effectiveness.
  • Technical Proficiency: Proficiency using ERP/MRP systems, Microsoft Office applications, production reporting tools, manufacturing systems, and advanced Microsoft Excel.

Qualifications:

  • Education:
    • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Operations Management, Logistics, Industrial Engineering, or a related field preferred.
    • Equivalent combination of education and relevant experience will be considered.
  • Certifications:
    • ASCM Certified in Planning and Inventory Management (CPIM), preferred
