Senior Manager, Production Control Operations

Overview
We are seeking a Senior Manager, Production Control Operations to lead all aspects of material management within a high-volume manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for ensuring seamless material flow, accurate inventory management, and on-time delivery of components and finished goods to support production targets.
This leader will play a key role in driving operational efficiency, supporting plant performance, and leading continuous improvement initiatives across material planning, handling, and logistics. The position requires a hands-on, proactive approach in a fast-paced, launch-focused environment.

Relocation support is available for this role.
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead daily material management operations, including scheduling, inventory control, kitting, line-side delivery, and service parts coordination
  • Manage and develop teams across material operations, third-party logistics (3PL), and service parts, fostering accountability and collaboration
  • Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and environmental standards within all material handling and logistics processes
  • Partner with cross-functional teams (planning, engineering, production) to align material readiness with production schedules and takt time requirements
  • Monitor and resolve material shortages, delays, and inventory discrepancies in real time to prevent production disruptions
  • Facilitate daily operational reviews and escalation processes to maintain build continuity and address issues quickly
  • Oversee incoming inspection activities, support BOM accuracy, and manage engineering change implementation
  • Collaborate with IT and planning teams to maintain ERP/MRP data integrity and system integration across operations
  • Track and improve key KPIs such as inventory accuracy, material availability, schedule adherence, inventory turns, dock-to-stock time, and line stoppages
  • Lead continuous improvement (Kaizen) initiatives focused on optimizing material flow, inventory systems, and operational efficiency
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering, or a related field (Master’s preferred)
  • 12+ years of experience in manufacturing, automotive operations, or supply chain management, with a focus on production control
  • Strong knowledge of ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and manufacturing system integration
  • Proven leadership experience in fast-paced or launch environments
  • Experience with lean manufacturing principles, JIT, and Kanban systems
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills
  • Familiarity with quality systems such as ISO 9001
Work Environment
  • Fast-paced manufacturing setting with a mix of office and shop floor responsibilities
  • Hands-on leadership required with regular cross-functional collaboration
  • Occasional travel to suppliers, launch sites, or logistics partners
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to travel up to 20%
