Job description

Primary Objectives of Position

Develop, implement, and maintain chassis operations and logistics processes, work flows, communications, data, analysis, metrics and reports. Support both field operations and HQ operations teams with timely assessment of operating parameters, identify tactical operational challenges and opportunities, and develop, recommend and implement operational responses to optimize outcomes in terms of cost and service. Develop and maintain outstanding customer and vendor relationships. Support other functional areas including business intelligence, IT, finance, and commercial.


Major Duties & Responsibilities

Chassis Logistics

  • Gather, record, analyze customer demand forecast data for each chassis depot/supply point
  • Develop, gather, record, analyze chassis supply forecast data for each chassis depot/supply point
  • Combine demand and supply data to develop holistic understanding of adequacy of chassis inventory to predict surplus and deficit conditions with sufficient lead time to take action to mitigate adverse cost and service impacts
  • Evaluate and recommend action plans to address inventory issues
  • Implement actions plans
  • Monitor execution of action plans including necessary intervention as needed to ensure success
  • Develop and maintain KPIs and trend performance data
  • Assist with managing and collecting customer specific information to help AIM implement Container/Chassis marriage activities

Vendor Management

  • Support operations by monitoring performance of various vendors, including facility, M&R, transportation, chassis manufacturers, and part suppliers
  • Conduct audits of product quality, billing accuracy, and other KPI related items

Data Integrity

  • Monitor data integrity related to on-hire and off-hire transactions (e.g. validate gate transactions, manage exceptions, correct errors)

Regulatory Compliance

  • Monitor regulatory inspection
  • Develop and maintain compliance data and reporting
Operational and Customer Reporting
  • Assist with data gathering, data integrity, analysis, and reporting
KPI & Performance Metrics
  • Assist with data gathering, data integrity, analysis, and reporting

Job Specifications

Minimum Education / Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred

Minimum Years of Relevant Experience

  • 2-5 years of working experience in logistics, transportation, or supply chain

Mandatory Technical Skills

  • Office 365 suite – Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Access, SharePoint
  • Microsoft Excel – ability to create worksheets, charts/graphs, data tables, pivot tables
  • PowerPoint – ability to create PowerPoint slides, insert graphics/images/shapes, animate slides

Other Preferred Skills

  • Prior working experience in GPS technologies
  • Prior working experience in Intermodal/Shipping domain
