Join a Leader in Transportation & Logistics
MODE Transportation is seeking a motivated and customer-focused Freight Operations Coordinator to support daily transportation operations and ensure exceptional service for our clients. In this role, you'll coordinate freight movements, manage carrier relationships, resolve transportation challenges, and contribute to the success of a fast-paced logistics team.

What You'll Do
Transportation Operations
  • Coordinate freight shipments from pickup through final delivery.
  • Monitor shipment progress and proactively address service issues or delays.
  • Communicate shipment updates and transportation-related information to customers.
  • Enter and manage transportation orders received through multiple channels, including EDI, email, web portals, and phone.

Carrier & Vendor Management
  • Develop productive relationships with transportation providers and service partners.
  • Source carrier capacity and obtain competitive transportation pricing.
  • Monitor carrier performance and ensure compliance with company service standards.
  • Support vendors with operational requirements and process improvements.

Customer Support & Account Management
  • Partner with customers to identify opportunities for improved transportation efficiency.
  • Analyze recurring accessorial charges and recommend solutions to reduce unnecessary costs.
  • Educate customers on transportation trends, service disruptions, and industry regulations.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to resolve invoicing and service-related concerns.

Problem Resolution
  • Identify operational challenges and implement effective solutions.
  • Coordinate recovery plans for service failures, missed pickups, and delayed deliveries.
  • Determine appropriate billing for accessorial events and communicate charges promptly.
  • Escalate critical issues when necessary to ensure timely resolution.

Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Work closely with Sales, Business Development, Operations, and Accounting teams.
  • Assist with onboarding new customers by ensuring all operational, reporting, and billing requirements are established correctly.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives that enhance customer experience and operational efficiency.

Qualifications
Preferred Experience
  • 3+ years of experience in transportation, logistics, freight brokerage, supply chain operations, or a related field.

Skills & Competencies
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
