Job description

Fleet Operations Analyst

North Houston Pole Line is one of the largest construction contractors in the Southwest, providing electric, gas, and telecom construction services. We are seeking a Fleet Operations Analyst to support day-to-day fleet operations, equipment tracking, rental coordination, invoice processing, and reporting.

This position is responsible for maintaining accurate fleet records, assisting with equipment logistics, tracking fleet-related costs, and supporting the Fleet and Finance teams with data entry, reporting, and administrative follow-up. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, comfortable working in Excel, and able to communicate effectively with field crews, vendors, and internal departments.

What You'll Do
  • Assist with daily fleet coordination by serving as a point of contact between the fleet department, field crews, vendors, and internal teams.
  • Coordinate equipment delivery and pickup needs with field crews and vendors to support project schedules.
  • Prepare, log, and maintain rental agreements, purchase order information, and related fleet documentation.
  • Track company-owned and rented equipment, including location, status, utilization, and related updates.
  • Review, code, and route fleet-related invoices for approval, including rentals, repairs, maintenance, parts, service, depreciation, and lease expenses.
  • Maintain fleet reports, spreadsheets, dashboards, and tracking logs using Microsoft Excel.
  • Support repair request tracking by updating progress, following up on open items, and helping improve visibility and accountability.
What You'll Bring
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree in business, accounting, finance, logistics, or a related field preferred.
  • Two or more years of experience in an administrative, fleet, finance, accounting, purchasing, or data-tracking role preferred.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, including basic formulas, filtering, sorting, PivotTables, and VLOOKUPs preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain accurate records and follow established processes.
  • Ability to organize multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and follow up on outstanding items.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills with the ability to work with field crews, vendors, and internal departments.
  • Ability to work in an office environment with occasional coordination related to field equipment or fleet operations; limited travel may be required.
