About the Job
The Fleet Supervisor is responsible for supervising and providing direct leadership to a team of fleet maintenance personnel while overseeing the daily workflow of vehicle maintenance and repair of a fleet size of 100 assets, all CNG vehicles with an average fleet age of less than five years.

Based at the North Huntingdon, PA location, this position operates on second shift, Monday through Friday, starting at 1:00 PM, with occasional Saturdays based on site needs. The Fleet Supervisor manages eight direct reports, including six Technicians, one Technician Assistant, and one Welder, and is responsible for assigning work, prioritizing repairs, and maintaining productivity standards.

After 4:00 PM, the Fleet Supervisor serves as the sole onsite manager/supervisor, requiring strong independent decisionmaking, leadership, and operational oversight. This role ensures compliance with safety standards, supports preventive and corrective maintenance programs, and acts as a key point of contact for afterhours operational needs.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical background in Diesel or Automotive systems, demonstrated leadership experience, and the ability to effectively manage personnel, workflow, and fleet performance with minimal supervision.
What You'll be Doing
 

  • Oversees the day-to-day operations of employees in the maintenance shop.
  • Coordinates and supervises all maintenance work and repairs, and monitors progress and quality.
  • Reviews driver repairs and other maintenance requests and prepares work order documents.
  • Performs mechanical duties as needed.
  • Monitors inventory of replacement parts and restocks as needed.
  • Oversees personnel including coaching, training, evaluating employee performance, and conducting disciplinary action as needed. Provides input into termination, compensation, and promotion decisions.
  • Interprets and ensures consistent application of organizational policies and safety regulations.
  • Creates and submits reports as necessary.

What does it take to be a Fleet Supervisor with WM?
A. Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED (accredited) 
  • 4 years years of relevant work experience. (in addition to education requirements) 
  • Valid Driver's License
