Job Summary
A key member of the Fleet Management group of Headquarters Team, this role supports The Head of Regional Fleet Management by managing both capital and expense projects relating to vehicles and airport ground support equipment (GSE) of the Swissport fleet for North America; facilitating support for the full life cycle of the assets, including capital planning, leasing, deployment, miscellaneous project support, and asset sale/disposal. Additionally, this role supports the Finance, Procurement and Planning groups for the tactical execution of the overall fleet strategy to ensure fleet assets are accurately specified and delivered on time to support Swissport operations.
Oversees policy compliance and reporting as it relates to the fleet; develops and implements vehicle and equipment specifications and cost management programs; manages fleet capex/leasing budgets.
The expected pay rate is $117,000/yr. Full-time employees are offered a range of health and wellness benefits as well as 401(k) with company match paid vacation time, sick time, and company paid holidays.
Job Responsibilities
  • Work in conjunction with management as necessary in order manage the acquisition, resale and disposal of vehicles and GSE assets, as well as to maintain accurate inventories of vehicles and equipment and titles.
  • Serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the application of Vehicles and Ground Support Equipment (GSE).
  • Facilitate and coordinate inter-region transfer of equipment.
  • Act as POC for vehicle & GSE asset specifications and supply chain matters related to those assets requiring regional input and coordination.
  • Propose Fleet Management System (FMS) rationalization to bring operational efficiencies in line with industry fleet management best practice.
  • Manage GSE conditioning, reconditioning, and retirement programs.
  • Oversee retrofit initiatives and coordinate salvage and resale efforts.
  • Manage all statutory, regulatory and audit compliance including documentation of licensing, registration and permitting.
  • OEM Vendors - Monitor new equipment deliveries. Address equipment defects and performance issues. Resolve warranty issues. Provide feedback regarding new product features and equipment performance improvements.
  • Own the short term/long term equipment replacement process.
  • Initiate and implement projects that improve efficiency and/or reduces operating costs by optimizing and standardizing the fleet.
  • Initiate, monitor, and recommend adjustments to the region's fleet replacement strategy in order to maximize the fleet's efficiency and profitability, ideally reduces the region's liability exposure and follows industry Best Practices. This includes acquisition, maintenance and remarketing as determined by cost effective life cycle analysis.
  • Lead the capex/leasing budget planning process.
  • Own the equipment planning and demand standards process and work with stations, planning and operations to ensure equipment planning models are accurate.
  • Align with global fleet management strategies and contribute to their development.

Qualifications and Competencies
  • College degree desired
  • Minimum 5 years of progressive responsibilities in Corporate fleet administration, or combination of relevant education and work experience, ideally within the aviation environment.
  • Knowledge of fleet and automotive industry, technology and operation.
  • General familiarity of fleet maintenance management principles.
  • Knowledge and general familiarity with AP and AR systems, all MS Office product with intermediate/expert understanding of Excel and Access, CMMS (computerized maintenance management system) and other business tools.
  • Familiarization with fleet telematics desired.
  • Knowledge of insurance practices, risk management and collision repairs are preferred.
  • Must be able to effectively communicate both verbally and written, and exercise active listening skills.
  • Strong communication, analytical, negotiation and decision-making skills required.
  • Ability to exercise considerable diplomacy, judgment and discretion in establishing and maintaining good working relationships and discretion with company employees, suppliers and other governing agencies.
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Experience and high level of capability in Oracle Financials and Payables
  • Comfortable communicating to the field in a high visibility role
  • Experience supporting multiple projects with competing priorities
  • Automotive or Fleet competency preferred
  • Minimal travel - 2-4 trips per year to support capital and leasing projects and leverage developmental opportunities
  • Collaboration - demonstrated cross-functional collaboration to solve problems with OEMs, Regional GSE Managers, engineers, field teams, Global Procurement and suppliers.
  • Ability to evaluate & optimize processes and adapt to changing work requirements.
  • Ability to clearly communicate and execute tactical assignments given both written and verbally.
  • Critical thinking, strong analytical skills and data-based approach to decision making.
  • Ability to represent Swissport with varied constituents and suppliers
  • 3+ years of experience and track record of results and teamwork.
  • Ability to integrate into the Fleet Management Team and contribute to people and organizational development.
