We are seeking an Assistant Nurse Manager for our Ortho Neuro Trauma Unit (2C) at our Newark Campus. This dynamic 35-bed unit cares for a diverse adult patient population, including individuals recovering from multiple and complex orthopedic injuries, traumatic brain injuries, and other trauma-related conditions. The unit features a dedicated on-site physical therapy gym, fostering interdisciplinary collaboration and supporting optimal patient recovery outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
As the Assistant Nurse Manager, you will partner with the Nurse Manager to support clinical excellence and daily operations by:
  • Coaching, mentoring, and evaluating staff performance and competency
  • Participating in employee engagement, recruitment, retention, and other human resource initiatives
  • Supervising staff and coordinating daily staffing and scheduling activities
  • Assisting with budget development and maintaining fiscal accountability
  • Supporting initiatives that enhance patient, employee, and physician satisfaction
  • Ensuring compliance with regulatory, accreditation, and organizational standards
  • Leading and supporting quality, safety, and performance improvement efforts
  • Promoting shared governance and serving as a leadership liaison to unit-based councils and interdisciplinary teams
  • Fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and patient-centered care

Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required
  • Master's Degree in Nursing required or commitment to obtain within five years of hire
  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license required
  • Acute care nursing experience preferred
  • Minimum of five years of progressive clinical and leadership experience
  • Related specialty board certification required.

Schedule
This position includes an off-shift leadership requirement to support staff across all shifts and ensure operational excellence.
Hourly Pay Range: $52.97 - $84.75
This pay rate/range represents ChristianaCare's good faith and reasonable estimate of compensation at the time of posting. The actual salary within this range offered to a successful candidate will depend on individual factors including without limitation skills, relevant experience, and qualifications as they relate to specific job requirements.
