Position Summary:

As a Portfolio Manager, you will collaborate in managing investment portfolios for a range of fiduciary accounts, providing research and analysis on common stocks, mutual funds, and fixed income investments within the Wealth Management Department. You will support the investments team in managing entry-level portfolios while continuing to build your investment knowledge and portfolio management experience.

What will you do:

Accountabilities

Investment Research

Conduct research on potential investments for client accounts. Maintain knowledge of existing investments.

  • Provide the investment team with insights and recommendations on its strategic and tactical asset allocation decisions given current market and economic conditions.
  • Maintain strong knowledge and command of current and anticipated capital market conditions and how it relates to client portfolios.
  • Analyze and document existing and potential investments including mutual funds, ETFs, stocks, and bonds.
  • Share ideas with team.

Portfolio and Client Relationship Management

Manage client portfolio investments while delivering world-class service through effective communication of investment concepts, strategies, recommendations, and results.

  • Manage client portfolio investments according to asset allocation targets by executing trades and rebalancing.
  • Actively manage discretionary investment accounts according to asset allocation targets by executing trades and rebalancing.
  • Conduct annual investment reviews for all discretionary accounts.
  • Maintain a current body of knowledge of economic and market trends and conditions.
  • Implement and maintain client portfolios ensuring consistency with internal investment policy, asset allocation guidelines, appropriate risk controls and desired tax efficiency.
  • Familiarity with fiduciary principles and prudent investing concepts.
  • Meet with existing clients where appropriate to conduct an investment review.
  • Meet with client prospects to communicate our value proposition and lead discussion on risk tolerance and appropriate asset allocation.
  • Communicate with clients about their accounts, market conditions and economic and market trends.

Qualifications

Secondary education in business or related field preferred. Three or more years of relevant work experience or a combination of education/experience that would enable incumbent to meet accountabilities and required competencies of the position. Experience in investment portfolio management preferred. Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) preferred or willing to attain within a reasonable amount of time.
