PSA Service Sales Representative
Johnson Controls supports smart, healthy, and sustainable buildings, helping customers protect people, property, and operations. In this role, you will help commercial customers maintain critical building systems by selling service agreements for fire alarm, suppression, sprinkler, security, sound, communication, and inspection services.
Role Overview
The Service Sales Representative is responsible for driving service agreement sales within the commercial building systems market. Success in this position comes from building trusted customer relationships, understanding service needs, developing accurate proposals, and closing business that supports both customer outcomes and sales plan objectives.
Key Responsibilities
  • Promote and sell service agreements for commercial building systems, including fire alarm, suppression, sprinkler, security, sound, communication, and inspections.
  • Establish contact with prospects and qualify potential buyers of service contracts through scheduled sales calls, lead follow-up, and targeted marketing strategies.
  • Build positive ongoing relationships with customers and develop a clear understanding of their needs and service priorities.
  • Create and execute sales strategies that align Johnson Controls service offerings with customer requirements.
  • Close sufficient sales to meet sales plan objectives and maintain an active proposal backlog.
  • Conduct building surveys to support estimate development and proposal accuracy.
  • Maintain accurate records of sales activity, correspondence, competitive activity, and expenses.
  • Submit required sales reports in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Support the service department by generating leads for service or equipment/device upgrades.

  • Approach every opportunity with accountability, integrity, and a focus on safety and customer trust.
  • Stay close to the work by listening carefully, conducting thorough building surveys, and translating customer needs into practical service solutions.
  • Use disciplined prospecting, consistent follow-up, and clear communication to move opportunities through the sales cycle.
  • Work as one team with service and internal partners to remove obstacles and support long-term customer relationships.
  • Look for ways to improve every day by keeping pipeline data current, strengthening proposals, and learning from customer feedback.
  • Manage your time well in a matrix environment where performance is measured by quota attainment and sales execution.
Qualifications
  • Degree or equivalent work experience (5 years).
  • Minimum of 5 years of B2B sales experience.
  • Experience selling a service, intangible, or technical product.
  • Experience prospecting, qualifying, solution selling, and closing deals.
  • Ability to work in a matrix environment with minimal direction and meet quota-based performance expectations.
  • Professional communication, interpersonal, and time management skills.
  • Proficiency with personal computers, including Windows and Oracle systems.
  • Ability and willingness to work as a teammate and collaborate effectively with others.

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical or business discipline.

HIRING SALARY RANGE: $44,500 - $66,850 (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.) This role also offers a competitive Sales Incentive Plan that will take into account volume and margin on a project, quarterly, and annual basis. This position includes a competitive benefits package. The posted salary range reflects the target compensation for this role.
