We have an exciting opportunity in the Valparaiso, IN area for an experienced Fire Alarm Designer. In this role, you will ensure that the system meets codes, standards, and specifications, provide a quality product that pleases the customer, and help to complete a successful installation. As our company continues to expand, we want you to grow and develop with us!

You Are:

  • EXPERIENCED: Experience in Fire Alarm, Clean Agent, Pre-Action Detection, AutoCAD, and VESDA; learn and comply with NFPA standards and other applicable federal, state, and local codes
  • KNOWLEDGEABLE: NICET II or NICET III certification in Alarm Design
  • ANALYTICAL: Critical thinker with mathematical aptitude; strong attention to detail; ability to read and understand construction blueprints
  • ADAPTABLE: Quickly adjusts to a changing environment; successfully manages priorities under time constraints
  • FLEXIBILE: Available as needed; able to travel to client sites when necessary

What You’ll Do:

  • KEEP TO CODE: Complete fire alarm drawings utilizing current NFPS standards, project specifications, manufacture recommendations, and best practices from the industry
  • PREPARE: Accurately and thoroughly layout, design, and render code compliant life safety alarm systems and related projects within stipulated timeframes
  • COORDINATE: Collaborate with the Sales, Project Manager’s, and technical staff teams to interpret project specifications
  • MENTOR: Support less-senior designers’ skills development in Fire Alarm design
