Job description

Financial Technology (FinTech) & Digital Assets banking is a core business line of GLBA and is responsible for the origination and execution of all investment banking transactions by Societe Generale Americas. The emphasis will be the broader FinTech (including Digital Assets) sector within Investment Banking. ย This will include equity origination (IPO's, Follow-Ons), private placements, M&A, Leveraged Finance debt origination and corporate lending. ย The group is fully integrated into the broader bank and will work closely with our product group and on a cross-border basis with groups in Europe and Asia.

  • Work closely with ECM, DCM, M&A, Transaction Banking and corporate banking to organize Societe Generale content and focus on the FinTech sector, including peer public and private equity, financing and transaction comparables.
  • Keep abreast of strategic activity and issues, market developments, capital markets activity, M&A and financing announcements and investor sentiment relating to the sector.ย 
  • Act as the point person on the coverage and execution team responsible for developing and organizing client presentations, Societe Generale marketing materials and pitches for business development relating to new and existing clients & business.
  • Conduct financial modeling and valuation analysis (including FinTech specific KPI analysis) relating to a broad range of corporate financing, M&A and strategic alternatives for participants in the sector; drive due diligence and committee processes for client engagements.
  • Work on/play a key role transaction execution
  • Build strong relationships with clients and colleagues in the United States, Europe and Asia across banking teams.

Technical Skills:

  • Proficient in financial analysis such as DCF, DEV, LBO, comparable companies, etcย 
  • Expertise in all necessary software programs (Excel, Powerpoint, Word)
  • Experience in working with MDS platforms, e.g. Bloomberg data, CapIQ, Factset


    Competencies:ย 

  • Strong oral and written presentation skills
  • Ability to work in a team structure as well as independently with initiative
  • Capacity to understand complex financial structures, strategy, and competitive positioning
  • Ability to excel in a fast-paced, pressure orientated environment and deliver under tight deadlines
  • Solid understanding of FinTech industry metrics, companies, and investors


    Experience Needed:

  • At least 3 years of prior relevant experience
  • Large cap investment & corporate banking training program
  • Analyst promote candidates preferredย 


    Educational Requirements:

  • Bachelors Degree or higher level from a competitive program with a preference for degrees in business, finance and/or accounting
