Job description

The Financial Support Assistant will support the U.S. Army Medical Materiel Development Activity (USAMMDA). Individual will support the Defense Health Agency (DHA) Program Area Executive (PAE) Medical Products that is responsible for developing medical products such as drugs, vaccines, devices, and medical support equipment. USAMMDA preserves and protects the lives of warfighters by developing medical products to ensure readiness and the highest quality of medical care for DOD personnel.   This position is based in Ft. Detrick, Maryland.  Responsibilities include the following:

JOB DESCRPTION:

    • Have familiarity and understanding of budget development and execution in a DoD (preferably Army) environment, along with the ability to analyze data for effective use of funding.
    • Assist in the review of reports on programmatic planning and execution data, provide periodic updates to financial plans inclusive of planned release schedules, current fiscal year activity, and prepare reports that will be used to brief senior leadership.
    • Use General Fund Enterprise Business System (GFEBS) to initiate purchase requisitions, execute monthly financial reports for obligations and disbursement rates, and query multiple reports.
    • Use provided data to prepare Microsoft PowerPoint presentations ensuring accurate spelling, data entry, and format.
    • During meetings, present the PowerPoint slides and insert notes or make changes during the presentation, as necessary. Alternatively, take notes of required changes to make after the meeting.
    • Prepare and Process Travel Fund Cite Letters.
    • Prepare Shipping Requests.
    • Use Microsoft outlook to schedule meetings and execution briefs.
    • Have a strong attention to detail and the ability to communicate effectively, handle demanding situations with clarity, focus and professionalism and to respond quickly to quick turnaround taskers
    • Participate in special projects as required.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting or a related business discipline preferred; if no degree, must have related business and administrative experience
  • At least 1 years of finance or business experience.
  • Excellent Microsoft Excel Spreadsheet skills – intermediate level.
  • Excellent Microsoft PowerPoint and Outlook/TEAMS skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Previous experience in military or government/government contracting environment preferred.
  • Experience with GFEBS preferred.
  • Must be U.S. citizen and be able to obtain a National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI) clearance.
  • Must be able to pass a Background Investigation and Drug Testing
