Diptyque- Luxury Fragrance House has established itself as one of the most renowned, leading fragrance houses within the luxury market today. Founded in 1961, the Maison is known for its mix of iconic scented candles, personal fragrances, bath and body products, and home décor. Its flagship boutique is in Paris' 5th arrondissement at 34 Boulevard Saint Germain.
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Director of FP&A to join our finance team. Candidate will lead the FP&A team and be responsible for financial planning, forecasting, budgeting, and financial analysis. Your insights and recommendations will enable the executive team to make informed business decisions that optimize operational performance. As a key member of the finance team, the role will be to develop and implement a strong financial strategy while working collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
This position is based in our NYC office reporting to CFO/COO.
Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities
Financial planning
• Lead company financial cycles: Annual budget, monthly closing and quarterly reforecast.
• Analyze margin and contribution performance across channels and product categories, providing insights to support profitable growth.
• Oversee inventory performance across warehouses and stores, assessing financial impacts and supporting actions to optimize stock levels.
• Act as a strategic partner to the business on Opex management, proactively identifying efficiency opportunities and recommending initiatives to improve cost structure and profitability.
• Lead Capex oversight by evaluating investment cases, tracking performance against business objectives, and assessing investment profitability.
• Take accountability for the direction, control and coordination of all financial activities for the departments including cost controls / contingency planning.
• Provide variance analysis to understand potential risk and opportunities with respect to financial results.
• Drive translation of strategic plan into an annual budget. Ensure the annual plan is supported by detailed action plans resulting in a realistic, achievable budget.
• Identify, recommend and monitor KPI for measuring financial and operating performance.
• Provide strategic financial insights and actively challenge business assumptions to support executive decision-making
• Develop strong cross-functional partnerships to support the departments.
Processes and System
• Review and optimize ERP set up to optimize financial processes and ensure data quality and reliability.
• Leads continuous improvement projects to be better support and champion the business
• Assists in establishing policies and procedures.
• Ensures compliance with company policies including, but not limited to, proper accounting of risks, financial controls, purchase commitments and levels of authority.
• Participates in or leads strategic / tactical business initiatives (may or may not be financial) that provide broad-based value for the group.
Leadership & People Development
• Lead and develop a team of 3 FP&A managers
• Foster a culture of growth mindset and continuous improvement, encouraging teams to challenge the status quo and adopt new ways of working aligned with Diptyque priorities
• Build strong cross functional partnerships across departments and with HQ in France to ensure alignment and global best practices sharing.
• Champion talent development and succession planning within key functional areas.

Requirements and Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field (MBA preferred)
• Proven experience as a Director of FP&A or a similar role in Retail Luxury/Cosmetic industries

• Proficient in financial reporting and analysis tools (e.g., Excel, financial planning software)
