Job Description

The Assistant Finance Manager is responsible for supporting the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of financial reporting and analysis processes. Reporting to the Finance Manager, this role focuses on executing advanced financial responsibilities, including financial close, forecasting, performance analysis, and internal controls. The position plays a critical role in ensuring reliable financial data and actionable insights that support business performance and strategic decision-making.

The Assistant Finance Manager will:

  • Partners closely with Finance, Operations, Supply Chain, and Commercial teams to ensure financial results accurately reflect business activities.
  • Bridge accounting processes with forward-looking financial planning, enabling improved visibility into financial performance, risks, and opportunities.
  • Use strong collaboration to resolve variances, support business initiatives, and enhance financial processes.
  • Provide guidance to team members and is expected to demonstrate ownership, accountability, and leadership in driving high-quality output.
  • Have strong analytical capability, attention to detail, and the ability to influence decisions through data-driven insights while supporting continuous improvement initiatives

The Assistant Finance Manager should have the skills to:

  • Assist in the quarterly preparation of a 3-year rolling forecast for EBIT and Cash, as well as weekly and monthly outlooks
  • Ensure Finance Manager and Senior Leadership team receive accurate and timely financial reporting
  • Month end close related activities as follows:
    • Responsible for review and reconciliation of general ledger, fixed assets, various reconciliations and intercompany billings
    • Calculation and preparation and support of various routine journal entries and accruals
    • Research variances and instruct staff/shared services to resolve issues
    • Prepare, analyze and present monthly operating results
    • Reconcile balance sheet accounts
  • Responsible for monthly Sarbanes Oxley reporting/ execution
  • Assist in the preparation and review of financial analysis for customer contract negotiations and identify margin improvement opportunities
  • Aids other departments and team members to ensure that Divisional accounting policies are followed, and controls are followed
  • Analyze financial and operational performance to identify trends, opportunities, and risks
  • Lead cost savings initiatives and replication of best practices
  • Provide ad hoc reporting and analysis as required

  • Supports effective decision-making by delivering timely and actionable financial analysis

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

Up to 25%  maximum  

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in accounting, financial analysis, or finance roles (director commercial Sales experience )
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting principles
  • Deep knowledge of income statement, balance sheet, and cash flow relationships
  • Experience with financial close, forecasting, and performance analysis
  • Proficiency with ERP systems (SAP preferred) and advanced Excel skills
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities
  • Demonstrated ability to work with large datasets and translate into actionable insights
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills across multiple functions
  • Experience supporting audits, internal controls, and compliance processes
  • Proven ability to drive process improvements and operational efficiencies

    What We Offer:

    Salary Range:  The expected salary range for this position is between $85,000 - $100,000 and includes a possible quarterly incentive bonus.  Actual pay will be adjusted based upon candidate experience and other job-related factors permitted by law.
