Job description

This role leads project teams from planning through implementation on highly complex projects that span the enterprise, which can include multiple projects within a program, resulting in projects that are delivered on time, within budget and to agreed scope.

What You'll Do
  • Lead the project to agreement on project scope and deliverables; understand the differences between what is requested and what is needed
  • Lead the project team in developing a comprehensive project plan which is in alignment with the project scope and deliverables; ensure all project stakeholders have input into the planning process
  • Identify the people and business units that could impact or be impacted by the project; understand when to engage key stakeholders in project decisions
  • Develop a communication plan for the project; ensure stakeholders' communication needs are addressed; communicate project status directly to senior leadership
  • Advise project managers and project sponsors on how to determine people resources and the makeup of the project team
  • Provide guidance and coaching to team members; serve as a resource Drive cross-functional collaboration with Wegmans business partners, leaders and vendors at all levels to ensure alignment between business objectives and project deliverables
  • Establish trust in order to advise senior leadership during the early formation of the project prior to formal project approval
  • Identify the level of acceptable quality for each project deliverable and ensure quality levels are met for each project deliverable
  • Ensure balance exists between scope, time and budget; identify issues and risks quickly, and develop mitigation plans and contingencies
Requirements
  • 7 or more years of project management experience
  • Project Management Software skills (MS Project, MS Planner, MS ADO)
  • Strong knowledge of implementation methodologies (Waterfall, Agile, Scrum)Certified PMP: Project Management Professional - PMI: Project Management Institute
  • Demonstrated experience applying Change Management principles/methodologies
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in project management
