Job description

Video Processing & Intake SpecialistJob Classification: Non-Exempt

Position Summary:

Reporting to the Surveillance Operations Manager (NYSIF) this position is responsible for receiving, reviewing, cataloging, processing, and managing video evidence and multimedia files. This role ensures accurate intake, proper handling, and timely processing of video content for internal teams or clients, while maintaining strict data integrity, confidentiality, and chain-of-custody standards. This is a part-time position.


Key Responsibilities:


Intake & File Management


  • Receive, log, and track incoming video files for both surveillance and non-surveillance files
  • Verify file completeness, formats, and associated documentation
  • Maintain accurate records in case management or asset tracking systems
  • Organize and categorize video files according to established protocols

Video Processing:


  • Convert videos into required formats using video processing tools/software
  • Extract clips, still frames, or segments as requested
  • Synchronize or merge multiple video feeds when necessary

Quality Control

  • Conduct quality checks to ensure videos are playable, complete, and meet technical standards
  • Identify corrupted, incomplete, or unusable files and escalate issues
  • Ensure adherence to compliance and regulatory requirements

Data Integrity & Security


  • Maintain strict chain-of-custody documentation for all video evidence
  • Ensure confidentiality and secure handling of sensitive media
  • Follow company and legal guidelines for data protection and storage

Collaboration & Support


  • Work closely with the operations manager and assistance operations manager.
  • Provide processed video outputs in requested formats and timelines
  • Communicate intake issues, delays, or technical concerns clearly

Qualifications:


  • High school diploma or equivalent (Associate's or Bachelor's preferred)
  • 0-2 years of experience in video processing, digital media handling, or data intake (or related field)
  • Familiarity with video formats (MP4, AVI, MOV, etc.) and file conversion tools
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple files and tasks efficiently
  • Ability to work a part-time schedule of 20 hours per week, 8:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. EST

Physical Demands and Work Environment:


While performing the duties of this job, the employee is in an office setting. The employee is regularly required to sit for long periods and operate a computer for long periods. Communicates on a regular basis with supervisors, clients, field investigators and office staff via telephone and email.
