Job description

An established manufacturer of UPS's, PDU's, and related critical power equipment is building a team of in house Field Service Engineers. They are in search of veteran Techs to use their knowledge of the power electronics industry to complete start-up, testing, troubleshooting, operations and maintenance work of UPS and related critical power equipment. The Field Service Engineer role will be home based and dispatched to customer sites as required. Field Service Engineer salaries will range from $70k-100k based on experience plus OT pay and a full benefits package.
Specific Duties
โ€ข Responsible for supporting installs, maintaining and providing emergency support on power electronics at customersโ€™ sites
โ€ข Involved in preventive maintenance, emergency response, equipment start-up and/or field modifications
โ€ข Attends periodic training at the companyโ€™s headquarters on various OEM units and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) which includes testing equipment and/or rebuilding older systems
โ€ข Troubleshoots equipment issues and uses all necessary resources to resolve issues
Job Requirements
โ€ข Preferably 3-5+ years experience in the critical power industry and ability to troubleshoot down to component level on equipment such as UPS, batteries, PDUโ€™s, RPP's, etc.
โ€ข Utilizes hand tools and test equipment to perform work
โ€ข Requires excellent verbal, written communication skills & customer relation skills
โ€ข Must be able to provide high level of quality customer service
โ€ข Must be able to complete Field Service Reports in a timely manner
โ€ข Requires knowledge of equipment manufacturerโ€™s specifications
โ€ข Ability to work independently and exhibit resourcefulness
โ€ข Must be able to perform repeated bending & lifting of up to 100 lbs. during certain procedures
โ€ข Must be able to provide necessary pro-active recommendations to clients
โ€ข Candidate must be willing to work nights & weekends when necessary
โ€ข Knowledge of general computer hardware & software applications
โ€ข Technical degree a plus
โ€ข Previous military experience and training a plus

Educational Background
โ€ข Technical graduate of a two-year accredited technical school in an engineering/technical field
OR
โ€ข Three to five years of technician experience in related power electronics field or industry
