The Principal Business Analyst partners closely with the Green Meadows squad's tech lead and business stakeholders to drive clarity and execution across complex initiatives. This role requires collaboration with a growing team of technologists in a fast-paced, highly ambiguous environment that is constantly evolving with new products and technologies. As a Principal Business Analyst, you will identify, analyze, and translate business and system requirements in support of large scale, complex brokerage trading systems for FCAT. The role will primarily be focused on managing the UI products for the brokerage system.

Are you energized by innovation? Do you want to combine the fast pace of a startup with the financial backing of one of the most successful companies in the industry? Join an exciting incubator within Fidelity focused on rapidly moving ideas from concept to scale and bringing them to market. If you are a Principal Business Analyst with a passion for building products and services that make lives better, FCAT may be the right place for you.

The candidate is a strong critical thinker who communicates effectively with both technical and business audiences, works closely across organizational boundaries, and builds trusted partnerships within FCAT and across the enterprise. The ideal candidate is delivery oriented and excels at breaking large, ambiguous problems into MVPs and pragmatic, phased solutions that deliver value early while scaling thoughtfully over time.

The Expertise We're Looking For
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field required; Master's degree preferred.
  • 6+ years of relevant experience spanning business systems analysis, product management, or product owner roles.
  • Exceptional critical thinking and systems thinking skills, with a shown ability to quickly understand complex system interdependencies and solve ambiguous business problems.
  • Expertise in business research and product management including data analysis, requirement gathering and use case development.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate business vision into defined and prioritized stories for the team backlog.
  • Experience with Jira or similar Agile backlog management or Project management tools.
  • Understanding of UX / UI concepts and create wireframes based on the user research and requirements for the team to build UIs.
  • Confirmed ability to translate between business intent and technical execution, converting loosely defined requirements into precise, actionable technical direction
  • Ability to serve as the main contact across between product, engineering, architecture, and team members, clearly representing both business objectives and technical implementation details (including third-party clients when needed)
  • Highly proficient in user and system story writing, creating business flow diagrams, and system/workflow documentation.
  • A Good understanding of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), Technology Life cycle management, APIs, Data Bases and Architecture concepts.
  • Brokerage domain experience is preferred.
What you will do
  • Serve as a core member of the product team, sharing accountability for strategy, discovery, and delivery of complex brokerage platform capabilities.
  • Lead multi-functional collaboration across product, engineering, architecture, QA, and operations to define, deliver, and evolve scalable solutions.
  • Drive clarity across ambiguous problem spaces by framing business intent, defining system requirements, and shaping pragmatic solution approaches.
  • Assess outcomes, measure impact, and inform roadmap evolution based on data and feedback.
The Team

At FCAT, we use emerging technologies and human-centered design to create visionary products and services that improve people's financial lives.
