Federal Channel Manager information

What is a federal channel manager?

A Federal Channel Manager is a professional responsible for developing and managing relationships between technology companies and their federal government partners or resellers. Their main goal is to drive sales of products and services to federal agencies by building and supporting a network of channel partners, such as value-added resellers, distributors, and system integrators. They ensure that partners are properly enabled, trained, and aligned with the company's federal market strategy. Additionally, Federal Channel Managers often navigate complex government procurement processes and compliance requirements to facilitate successful sales and partnerships.

How does a federal channel manager collaborate with government partners and internal sales teams?

A Federal Channel Manager plays a key role in building and maintaining relationships with government-focused channel partners, such as resellers and system integrators. This often involves regular coordination with both external partners and internal sales, marketing, and technical teams to align on federal program requirements, compliance, and joint go-to-market strategies. Effective collaboration ensures that solutions meet government regulations and that all parties are kept informed of market opportunities, contract vehicles, and sales progress. Strong communication and organizational skills are essential for managing these complex, multi-stakeholder relationships.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a federal channel manager, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Federal Channel Manager, you need expertise in channel sales, government contracting, and strong knowledge of federal procurement processes, often supported by a bachelor's degree in business or a related field. Familiarity with CRM systems, federal acquisition regulations (FAR), and distributor/partner management tools is typically required. Exceptional relationship-building, negotiation, and communication skills help foster productive partnerships and drive revenue growth. These capabilities are crucial for navigating the complexities of federal markets and ensuring compliance while achieving organizational sales targets.

Job description

The Grand America Hotel
Salt Lake City, UT 84111, USA

  • On-site
  • Hospitality
  • Full-Time
  • Requisition #: REVEN004205
DescriptionCompany Overview

For generations, travelers have ventured across the American Westโ€”drawn by wide-open landscapes, mountain air, and the promise of whatโ€™s just beyond the next turn. Weโ€™ve walked those same roads, inspired by desert light and prairie skies, by peaks that touch the clouds and cities where the West was built.

In the places that moved us most, we created something lasting: hotels and resorts where the journey pauses, where you can settle in and belong, if only for a night.

Weโ€™re a family-run collection of hotels and resorts spanning the American West from Sun Valley to San Diego, from the original Little America on Interstate 80 to our five-diamond flagship in Salt Lake City.

Every property is distinct, shaped by its landscape and community. But they share something essential: an unwavering commitment to craft, an attention to detail that goes beyond luxury, and people who genuinely care about getting it right. Thatโ€™s not hospitality as performance. Itโ€™s hospitality as a family value, passed down and practiced every day.

Position Overview

The Revenue Manager will be responsible for developing and implementing revenue optimization strategies for multiple hotels in the Grand America Hotels & Resorts collection. This role will focus on maximizing revenue across leisure, corporate, and group market segments while working directly with key stakeholders to ensure alignment of revenue strategies for optimal outcomes.

  • Partner with team members and property stakeholders to optimize revenue management objectives of each property.
  • Monitor and analyze market trends, competitive set pricing, and demand patterns to make strategic decisions on pricing strategies and inventory allocation, leveraging advanced analytics to identify revenue opportunities.
  • Collaborate closely with the Directors of Sales and the Sales teams to evaluate group opportunities and provide strategic displacement analysis to optimize revenue potential between group and transient business, considering seasonal patterns and market conditions.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key distribution partners, OTAs, and third-party channels to optimize channel mix, negotiate favorable terms, and ensure rate-parity across all platforms.
  • Assist Revenue Management team in various capacities as directed by Senior Revenue Manager.
Required Qualifications
