They help busy families streamline their daily lives, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and that all personal and household needs are met. While both roles support private households, a Family Personal Assistant primarily handles personal scheduling, errands, and administrative tasks for a family member. A Household Manager oversees the entire household operations, including staff management and estate maintenance. The roles often overlap but differ in scope and responsibilities.

How does a family personal assistant typically balance multiple tasks and priorities in a busy household?

Family Personal Assistants often juggle a variety of responsibilities, such as managing schedules, coordinating travel, running errands, and overseeing household staff. To stay organized, they rely on strong time management skills, detailed to-do lists, and effective communication with family members and other staff. It's common to use digital tools like shared calendars and task management apps to prioritize urgent requests and ensure nothing falls through the cracks. Flexibility is key, as priorities can shift quickly in a dynamic household environment.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a family personal assistant, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Family Personal Assistant, you need excellent organizational abilities, time management skills, discretion, and prior experience in household or administrative roles. Familiarity with scheduling software, household management apps, and sometimes a valid driver’s license or CPR certification are typically expected. Outstanding interpersonal skills, flexibility, and problem-solving abilities help you anticipate needs and build trust with the family. These skills ensure smooth daily operations, confidentiality, and responsive support tailored to the family's unique requirements.

Some roles manage schedules.
This one helps create a life that runs beautifully.
We're partnering confidentially with a highly private, hospitality-driven household seeking an exceptional Personal Assistant to become a trusted extension of the principal and family.
This is a rare opportunity for a seasoned professional who understands that luxury is not defined by visibility-it's defined by anticipation, discretion, thoughtful execution, and creating environments where daily life feels effortless.
The ideal candidate brings deep experience supporting sophisticated households, private estates, executive families, or luxury hospitality environments and takes pride in delivering exceptional service quietly and consistently.
The Role
This position sits at the center of household operations and family support, helping create structure, ease, and continuity across daily life.

• Coordinate family activities and support household priorities involving children
• Run personal errands and execute requests with speed, discretion, and professionalism

• Coordinate reservations, vendors, deliveries, and personal services
• Create and maintain organized household systems and routines
• Support travel preparation, planning, and personal logistics
• Create polished and seamless experiences for family members and guests
• Handle sensitive and confidential matters with exceptional care and discretion
About You
• 25+ years of experience in hospitality, estate management, personal assistance, private service, or household operations
• Experience supporting sophisticated households, private estates, executive families, or luxury hospitality environments
• Mature professional presence with exceptional discretion and emotional intelligence
• Excellent judgment and ability to remain calm under changing circumstances
• Strong organizational skills with impeccable attention to detail
• Service-oriented with a hospitality-first mindset
• Comfortable balancing household management, family support, and personal assistance responsibilities
• Able to work independently while maintaining elevated standards
• Open to relocation to Napa Valley, California
Compensation & Benefits
• $170,000 annual base compensation
• Eligibility for discretionary bonus
• Comprehensive benefits package
• Long-term opportunity within a highly curated private environment
• Relocation support may be considered for the right candidate
Location
Oakville, Napa, California
Fully onsite
