Pay Range: $15.00 - $16.00 an hour
Who We Are:
Tri-County Community Action Agency, Inc. (TCCAA) is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated for over 50 years to making a positive difference in the lives of those experiencing hardships. The agency consists of multiple programs that are created to empower people in Halifax, Charlotte and Mecklenburg Counties of Southside Virginia. Through collaborative efforts, engaged staff and partnerships, Tri-County is able to further our mission to eliminate the violence of poverty through advocacy, empowerment and self-sufficiency.
What We Are Looking For:
The Family Impact Leader works in coordination with the Head Start program in the planning and implementation of the Family and Community Partnership service area at an assigned center. This is achieved by:
  • Promoting parent involvement programs which encourage the educational, social, and emotional development of all Head Start families.
  • Ensuring delivery of services to include parent involvement, social service, transition, and health are carried out for parents, guardians and pre-school children enrolled in the Head start Program.
  • To provide relationships in outreach and recruitment activities.
  • Holistic approach to education and family engagement.
  • Providing positive impact and productive family outcomes.

What You Will Do:
  • Organizes, plan and facilitate parent meetings.
  • Assist Educational Impact Leader in maintaining recruitment process to ensure enrollment at funded level.
  • Assist parents in assessment of their needs.
  • Provides support and services as a resource to families.
  • Assist in the implementation of other aspects of the Family and Community Partnerships service area.
  • Attend meetings related to Head Start and Family and Community Partnerships.
  • Performs other reasonable related duties as assigned by Educational Impact Leader.
  • Works toward meeting in-kind quota monthly
  • Plan, schedule, and document center volunteers.
  • Prepare and submit monthly reports of activities, in-kind contributions, and volunteer hours.
  • Keeps Educational Impact Leader abreast of all transition activities.

What We Are Seeking:
  • Possess a valid driver's license.
  • Strong knowledge of theories and practices of Human Services with a degree in a Human Service field to include community and public relations.
  • Experience working with low-income families.
  • Strong organizational and record-keeping skills.
  • Ability to communicate with professionals, children, parent, and community members.
  • Knowledge of geographic areas and services available.
  • Ability to schedule, manage and work with minimum direct supervision.
  • Proficient in verbal and written communication skills.
