Job description

Job Title: Faith Formation Administrative Assistant, Part-time (25 hrs./wk.)
Reports to: Director of Religious Education/ Pastor
Location: Epiphany Cathedral, Venice, FL
Classification: Hourly/Nonexempt
Overview
Epiphany Cathedral is seeking a Part-Time Faith Formation Assistant to support the department with administrative duties. Assist with the planning, coordination, and set-up of all Faith Formation programs, including Faith Formation classes, Youth Group, Confirmation, Young Adult programs, OCIA (Order of Christian Initiation of Adults), catechist programs, and adult faith formation, including sacramental ceremonies as needed.
Job Responsibilities
  • Provide administrative and program support to the Director of Religious Education and the Youth & Young Adult Coordinator.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date data entry, records, and filing systems, both electronic and hard copy for the Faith Formation Department, including Sacramental Books and ParishSOFT records, and provide required updates and documentation to other parishes as needed.
  • Substitute for catechists when necessary.
  • Assist preparing and distributing all necessary materials for examinations, training sessions, and related programs.
  • Maintain confidentiality and ensure the proper handling of sensitive student, family, sacramental, and parish information.
  • Perform other duties and administrative responsibilities as assigned.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent, Associate degree (AA) preferred.
  • 2 - 3 years of experience in an administrative assistant or similar administrative role.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities and meet established deadlines.
  • High level of professionalism and confidentiality.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to and understanding of the Catholic faith and the mission of the Catholic Church.
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed for Faith Formation programs, events, and sacramental celebrations.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish, Preferred.
  • Experience working in a parish, school, nonprofit, or other faith-based organization, preferred.
  • Experience with ParishSOFT or similar parish management software, preferred.
