Job description

Overview

AdventHealth Ocala, a 385-bed hospital in central Florida, seeks a BC/BE Family Medicine with Obstetrics physician to join our growing Graduate Medical Education Team.

The program started in July 2025 with 8 residents per program year. Our team currently includes an experienced Program Director, Assistant Program Director and 3 Core Family Medicine Faculty, plus well-trained, dedicated clinical staff. We're looking for a Family Medicine with OB who has the desire to be a part of a growing program, a passion for medical education, and who will place a priority on collaboration, quality of care, and the patient and resident experience.

Physician will do roughly 70% family medicine and 30% obstetrics with the opportunity for OB growth as the program builds volume. Call will be 1:3 from home or office and one weekend of call a month. Call is supported by an OB hospitalist group.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Full time. Split schedule of resident supervision, personal clinical, and administrative time
  • Work with Program Director on program accreditation, resident recruitment, rotation scheduling, curriculum development and resident coaching.
  • Serve as a member of the program evaluation committee and clinical competency committee.
  • Perform additional academic and clinical duties as assigned by the program director
  • Demonstrate excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills
  • Model professionalism for residents, medical students and clinical staff.
  • Possess excellent computer skills including proficiency with Microsoft Office and the EPIC EMR.

Faculty will be responsible for administering and maintaining an educational environment conducive to educating residents in each of the ACGME competency areas. Equivalent educational qualifications may be acceptable by the FM Review Committee of the ACGME.
