Job description

The Manufacturing Engineering (ME) Manager is responsible for leading all Manufacturing Engineering for Engine programs. Their primary role is to guide their Engineering team to develop and launch processes that meet all objectives for safety, quality, delivery, and cost, for both new model and adaptation programs. This also includes performing assessments for process changes and related investment requirements for cost studies and development/improvement of process and equipment standards. Other responsibilities are to lead their team in the implementation of World Class Technology (WCT) methodology, supporting all activities including deployment of advanced WCT tools. The ME Manager will support the Engine Manufacturing Plant located in Kokomo, Indiana while maintaining a relationship with Engine ME counterparts in Saltillo, Mexico as well as support of Global COC initiatives.
Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or technical equivalent
  • Minimum 10 years manufacturing experience
  • Minimum 5 years progressive engineering experience
  • Must be able to work and interact with all levels of the organization
  • Must have strong oral, written, presentation, and organizational skills
  • Ability to implement WCT principles
  • Ability to lead effectively in a bargaining unit environment
  • Strong knowledge in the implementation of Safety, PM, and Launch Domain
  • Knowledge of Continuous Improvement methods and tools
  • Strong skills in resolving complex issues affecting overall operations
  • Knowledge of cost studies and strategic planning a plus
