Your Role in Synergy's SuccessThis position is responsible for the Extraction Department in a flavors manufacturing facility. Extraction team members monitor equipment, follow sanitary practices, move and lift products into hoppers, and pack liquid products into various containers which are subsequently placed on pallets for shipment.How You Will Contribute

Job Responsibilities

  • Sets up, and controls processes, i.e. blending, extraction and filtration. Completes appropriate documentation.

  • Operates process and utility equipment in a hygienic and safe manner in accordance with all process procedures, cGMP and HAACP instructions and guidelines. Acts in such a way that safety awareness and accident prevention are considered in the performance of all tasks.

  • Sets up, calibrates and monitors instruments, i.e. pH meter, temperature meter, conductivity meter, hydrometer, and thermometers.

  • Tears down, cleans and re-assembles equipment, i.e. pumps, grinders, valves, etc. Clean utensils, vessels and lines.

  • Identifies, troubleshoots, and responds to deviations in process, product, equipment, and performance variations.

  • Performs minor maintenance work on equipment when necessary to ensure continuous operation of process.

  • Monitors PLC controlled equipment and problem solves any variation from the standard

  • Completes the daily, weekly, and monthly sanitation schedules

  • Tends solvent extraction equipment that extracts flavor compounds. Observes temperature and steam pressure gauges and flowmeters, and turns valves or hand wheels to regulate temperature and flow of material in equipment within specified limits.

  • Records indicator readings and test results

  • Follow standard instructions to package products to specifications

  • Lifting of heavy drums and bags and wearing proper PPE

  • Strictly follow detailed instructions to monitor equipment, control temperatures

  • Work in a faced paced environment able to multi-task and perform under pressure while remaining flexible.

  • Follow sanitary guidelines for CIP and cleaning

  • Filling out necessary paperwork and batch sheets that accompany mixes compounded

Starting Salary : $18.00/hr

The actual compensation that you will be offered will depend on a variety of factors including geography, skills and abilities, education, experience and other relevant factors. This role will remain open until filled.
