Morris Habitat for Humanity is a non-profit organization and an affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International that brings people together to build homes, communities, and hope. Our organization serves populations in 68 municipalities spanning across Morris, Middlesex and parts of Union and Somerset Counties.


The Warehouse Expeditor position is a part-time role that is responsible for receiving, processing, stocking, and displaying donated materials. The Warehouse Expediter will also receive walk-in donations in person and help supervise and direct volunteer “staff” in carrying out required tasks and projects. The Warehouse Expeditor will assist as a truck helper when needed.


This role reports to the Assistant Manager and is based out of Morris Habitat for Humanity’s ReStore in Randolph, New Jersey.


Responsibilities & Duties:

· Receive and screen donations according to current policies, providing professional and friendly service to MHFH’s donors.

· Maintain and help build merchandise displays.

· Maintain all presentation areas and assist in daily maintenance of the ReStore.

· Work with supervisor in leading and directing volunteer “staff” in maintaining floor presentation.

· Assist with customer pick-ups and provide customer help as requested.

· Ensure all merchandise is cleaned with needed repairs noted and prepped for resale.

· Assist as an assistant on the truck as required.

· Operate a cash register to document sale of merchandise.

· Keep up to date on methods of pricing, inventory, and procedures.

Requirements:

Education and Experience:

· No specific level of education is required.

· Experience in retail settings is preferred.


Qualifications and Skills:

· Good customer service abilities.

· Ability to follow directions and accepts guidance on tasks; also able to work independently.

· Ability to lift 50 lbs. on a consistent basis and stand for long periods of time.

· Work references show responsible background.

· Commitment to core values of Morris Habitat for Humanity.

This position requires weekend availability (including Sundays)
