Project Overview:

Job Summary:
In this role, you will perform project or site expediting activities. You will contact suppliers, interpret production schedules and progress reports, prepare critical items reports, provide early warning of delays or supplier deficiencies, monitor supplier quality, and assist with tracing missing material. Your initiative and corrective actions will help ensure timely delivery of materials and equipment.
This position is designated as part-time telework per our global telework policy and will require at least three days of in-person attendance per week at the assigned office or project. Weekly in-person schedules will be determined by the individual and their supervisor, in consultation with functional or project leadership. #LI-RG1
Major Responsibilities:
  • Performs more complex expediting activities on a project, in a support office, or at a jobsite to ensure the timely delivery of materials and equipment to meet project needs
  • Contacts suppliers to obtain timely submission of engineering data and to follow-up on material acquisition, production progress and shipment
  • Interprets production schedules and progress reports to ensure they are realistic, that required activities occur on time, and that interface between activities is maintained
  • Coordinates with planning and scheduling, field material coordinators or jobsite project expeditors and construction to establish priorities, sequences and required delivery dates and instructs suppliers accordingly
  • Expedites Bechtel engineering for the timely review, approval and return of engineering data submitted by suppliers
  • Participates in pre- and post-award meetings to review and discuss schedules and potential problem areas that may impact required shipment dates
  • Coordinates shipping arrangements or tracking requests with the project Logistics representative

Education and Experience Requirements:
  • Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 2-5 years of relevant experience or 6-9 years of relevant work experience

Required Knowledge and Skills:
  • Possesses specialized experience, typically developed through a combination of job-related training and considerable work experience.
  • Completes tasks in an ingenious, effective and moderately complex way.
  • Works on difficult assignments that require judgment and initiative.
  • Understands the implications of the work and makes recommendations for solutions.
  • Minimal supervision with considerable leeway for judgment.
  • Complete difficult assignments without assistance.
  • You can mentor less experienced team members and assist supervisors.
  • Knowledge of Excel and Word. Platform: EBS ETA (Bechtel BSAP Platform that every activator must use).
  • It does not require specific certification, you must have a minimum of a 2-year academic degree, with administrative skills, and basic knowledge of industrial equipment related to the mining sector.
  • English management: Basic or Technical English.
