Advertised Salary: $1,353 per credit hour. If advanced degree held in primary academic discipline the minimum rate increases to $1,458. Salary commensurate with qualifications pursuant to the FSU and FNTFO/AFT Agreement.

Summary of Position: Potential courses include Introduction to Exercise Science, Introduction to Fitness and Wellness, and First Aid and Emergency Management via lecture and laboratory classes for students for the Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science degree. This is a pooled position. One or more applicants may be hired as needed on a semester-by-semester basis. Courses are to be taught in person on one of Ferris State University's Campuses. The candidate(s) selected for the position must reside in Michigan after acceptance of employment.
The anticipated start date of this position is August of 2026 at the earliest and January of 2027 at the latest. However, these are estimated dates and can be revised if needed.
Position Type: Faculty - Temporary & Continuing
Required Education: Master's degree in Exercise Science or closely related field (e.g. Kinesiology, Biomechanics, Athletic Training, or Human Performance)
Required Work Experience: Minimum of two years of work experience in their field of study and/or in higher education

Essential Duties/Responsibilities: Provide instruction in classrooms, laboratories, or online for students in the bachelor's degree of Exercise Science program as assigned in the College of Health Professions.
Cultivate an environment of belonging that values, respects, supports, and celebrates individual similarities and differences, allowing students, faculty and staff to thrive authentically.
Support, promote, and develop university student enrollment and retention initiatives.
Any other duties assigned within the position classification area.
Faculty members also have professional responsibilities, which may include but are not limited to keeping regular posted office hours (which are scheduled at times convenient for students) and participation in traditional functions which have academic significance (i.e. reporting initial student participation data and submitting final grades on time). Faculty may be required to teach off-campus or in an online environment.

Skills and Abilities: Effectively teach assigned courses, assist in development of course content, utilization of Canvas for disseminating course information and recording grades, respond to students' questions and concerns in a timely manner.
