Teaching Associate of Exercise Science
The Department of Kinesiology in the Conway Medical Center College of Health and Human Performance at Coastal Carolina University invites applications to establish a Teaching Associate pool for undergraduate instruction in Exercise and Sport Science. Teaching Associates are appointed on an as-needed, semester-by-semester basis, with course assignments determined by departmental needs.
The primary instructional need is EXSS 122: Lifetime Fitness and Physical Activity; however, Teaching Associates may be assigned to teach other undergraduate Exercise and Sport Science courses based on qualifications, experience, and programmatic demand.
Responsibilities
• Teach undergraduate courses in Exercise and Sport Science.
• Deliver instruction using best practices aligned with departmental learning outcomes and university standards.
• Teach in classroom, laboratory, and/or activity-based settings as appropriate.
• Assess student learning and provide timely feedback.
• Maintain course records and comply with all university, college, and departmental policies.
Minimum Qualifications
Master's degree in Exercise Science, Kinesiology, or a closely related field.
A minimum of 18 graduate credit hours in Exercise Science and/or Kinesiology.
Preferred Qualifications
• Teaching experience in higher education.
• Demonstrated commitment to current best practices in personal fitness and physical activity.
• Relevant professional certifications (e.g., ACSM, NSCA, NASM, ACE).
• Experience teaching wellness or activity-based courses.
