This position is hybrid based in Washington, DC; Yarmouth, MA or US Remote

The Manager, Media & Communications Analytics, primarily supports the tracking of communications metrics associated with both traditional and social media across IFAWโ€™s multiple communications channels, and facilitates those metrics into quantitative as well as qualitative learnings that will be used to continue to tell the IFAW conservation story. Such learnings will facilitate the distribution of organizational knowledge across teams, as well as with all key stakeholders, both internally and externally. Secondarily, the role will involve offering Communications support as needed to the Director of the Executive Office.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Maintain and manage a comprehensive media analytics tracker, monitoring all coverage across traditional and social media related to IFAWโ€™s conservation work and priority campaigns.
  • Utilize the platforms of Meltwater, Sprout, Asana, and others as key platforms through which to track, record, and evaluate relevant media metrics.
  • Evaluate the results of IFAWโ€™s individual communications channels to evaluate effectiveness and develop recommendations through which to improve media performance.
  • Work with Communications Leadership team and all members of broader global team to facilitate knowledge sharing and ensure help ensure maximum outreach to key stakeholders with a focus on IFAW donors and the general public.
  • Support Executive Office Director with administrative tasks associated with ensuring the operations of the Executive Office as it relates to the focus on Communications.
  • Assist the Executive Office Communications Manager (based in UAE) with all efforts pertaining to the preparation of reports and internal documentation meant to convey the progress, status, and effectiveness of IFAWโ€™s communications efforts.
  • Monitor and flag issues or developments that may require leadership awareness or response from the Executive Office.
  • Support preparation for interviews, speaking engagements, and stakeholder meetings, including briefing materials as needed.
  • Maintain additional trackers (outside of Communications) for Executive Office priorities, key initiatives, and follow-up actions to support leadership decision-making.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree preferred, preferably in Communications, Analytics, Media Studies, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • In-depth experience in media monitoring and social media analytics.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills with the ability to synthesize information quickly and provide effective next steps.
  • Excellent written communication and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a mission-driven environment.
  • Familiarity with media monitoring tools and analytics platforms is a must.
