They work closely with company leadership to understand specific technical and leadership requirements, develop recruitment strategies, and manage the end-to-end hiring process. This often involves networking, searching for passive candidates, conducting interviews, and negotiating offers to ensure the best fit for both the company and the candidate.

Recruiters also act as a bridge between candidates and the technical team, facilitating interviews, gathering feedback, and ensuring a smooth and transparent process for all parties involved. This collaboration is crucial to successfully identifying and securing top engineering talent for leadership positions.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as an executive engineering recruiter, and why are they important?

To thrive as an Executive Engineering Recruiter, you need deep knowledge of engineering disciplines, talent acquisition strategies, and a proven track record in executive search, usually supported by a bachelor's degree in HR, engineering, or a related field. Familiarity with Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS), recruitment platforms like LinkedIn Recruiter, and relevant certifications such as AIRS or SHRM-CP is highly valued. Exceptional relationship-building, negotiation, and communication skills help you connect with top-tier engineering leaders and effectively manage client and candidate expectations. These competencies are critical for identifying and securing high-impact executive talent in competitive technical markets.

You will own searches from intake to placement, partner directly with sales leadership and clients, and deliver a high-level candidate experience throughout the process.

This is not a resume-pushing recruiter role — you will operate as a talent advisor and search owner.

What You’ll Do:

Search Execution

  • Lead searches from kickoff to placement
  • Build sourcing strategies for active and passive talent
  • Utilize calls, LinkedIn, networking, referrals, and databases to identify candidates
  • Screen and qualify talent for skills, culture fit, motivation, and compensation alignment

Candidate Relationship Management

  • Build strong relationships with candidates throughout the hiring process
  • Prepare candidates for interviews
  • Manage feedback, offers, negotiations, and closing process
  • Deliver an exceptional candidate experience

Client Partnership

  • Partner with internal sales team and hiring managers on search strategy
  • Understand business needs, hiring priorities, and role requirements
  • Provide market feedback, talent insights, and pipeline updates
  • Help guide hiring decisions through strong communication and process management

Talent Pipeline Development

  • Build talent communities in key markets and industries
  • Maintain organized pipelines for future openings
  • Re-engage prior candidates and referrals
  • Develop long-term networks that create repeat placements

Operational Excellence

  • Manage activity, notes, and workflow in CRM/ATS
  • Prioritize multiple searches simultaneously
  • Maintain urgency, organization, and consistent follow-up
  • Execute within structured recruiting processes and KPIs

What Success Looks Like

  • Consistent outbound recruiting activity
  • Qualified candidate pipelines
  • High submission-to-interview ratios
  • Placements and repeat business
  • Strong candidate experience and reputation
  • Ability to manage multiple searches with urgency and quality

Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of recruiting/staffing experience preferred (agency, search firm, or corporate recruiting backgrounds considered)
  • Strong sourcing and candidate engagement skills
  • Ability to build relationships and influence people
  • Strong communication and follow-up discipline
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • CRM / ATS experience preferred (Tracker, LinkedIn Recruiter, Indeed, ZipRecruiter, etc.)
  • Competitive mindset with a sense of urgency and ownership

Compensation & Schedule:

  • Competitive base salary (weekly pay)
  • Uncapped commission plan
  • Bonus opportunities
  • Full benefits (medical, dental, vision, life, 401k)
  • Unlimited PTO
  • Hybrid Schedule after 90 days

Why This Role Stands Out:

  • High-quality job orders and national client exposure
  • Ability to work direct hire, retained, and contract to hire searches
  • A structured recruiting process that drives results
  • Growth path into senior recruiting or sales roles
  • Strong leadership support and clear expectations
  • Opportunity to build a long-term recruiting career, not just work another desk

Apply:

If you want to build a long-term career in recruiting with a firm that values structure, growth, and winning the right way — we’d like to talk.
