Job description

Title: Accounting Manager
Job Family: Accounting & Finance
Reports To: Managing Partners / CEO
Location: This position is based in Southeast Wisconsin and follows a hybrid work arrangement. Employees are expected to work onsite at the Company's Waukesha office regularly, with additional in-person meetings, training sessions, or business needs requiring onsite attendance from time to time.
Compensation Range: $75,000 - $85,000 annually. Compensation will vary based on experience, leadership capabilities, multi-entity accounting expertise, and overall alignment with the responsibilities of the role.

Position Summary
The Accounting Manager is responsible for overseeing day-to-day accounting operations across all On Point Holdings entities. This role leads month-end close activities, financial reporting, account reconciliations, payroll processing, and the development of accounting team members while ensuring accuracy, consistency, and timeliness in financial processes.
The Accounting Manager plays a critical role in supporting the financial stability and operational effectiveness of the organization. This position requires a hands-on leader who actively participates in accounting operations, drives process improvements, establishes accountability within the accounting function, and develops scalable practices to support future growth.
While this role is expected to provide professional recommendations and accounting expertise, final authority regarding company strategy, organizational structure, compensation programs, ownership matters, and executive decisions remains with the Managing Partners, CEO, and Board of Directors, as applicable. The Accounting Manager is expected to support and execute leadership decisions once made.
Essential Responsibilities
Accounting Operations
Oversee all accounting functions, including:
  • General Ledger management
  • Month-end and year-end close processes
  • Financial statement preparation
  • Account reconciliations
  • Fixed asset accounting
  • Intercompany accounting
  • Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable oversight
  • Payroll processing and payroll accounting oversight
  • Ensure accuracy, consistency, and timeliness of financial reporting across all entities.
  • Review accounting work for completeness and accuracy.
  • Identify and resolve accounting discrepancies and issues.
  • Oversee and process payroll activities, including review of payroll data, validation of earnings and deductions, and coordination with HR to ensure accurate and timely payroll processing.
  • Calculate, review, and process commission payments, bonus programs, and other incentive compensation in accordance with approved compensation plans and company policies.
  • Ensure payroll-related transactions, including commissions and bonuses, are accurately recorded in the general ledger and supported by appropriate documentation.

Financial Oversight & Reporting
  • Prepare monthly financial reporting packages for leadership review.
  • Assist with annual budget preparation by gathering data and supporting leadership requests.
  • Perform variance analysis and identify trends requiring follow-up.
  • Monitor monthly account reconciliations and ensure timely completion.
  • Review journal entries and supporting documentation for accuracy.
  • Ensure adherence to established accounting policies and procedures.
  • Support annual audits and tax preparation activities.
  • Partner with HR and Operations to facilitate accurate and timely payroll processing, including the review and validation of payroll data, commission calculations, bonus payments, and related employee compensation transactions.

Process Improvement & Infrastructure
  • Improve accounting systems, controls, and reporting processes.
  • Develop scalable procedures that support organizational growth.
  • Establish accountability mechanisms that promote timely completion of financial responsibilities.
  • Implement practical solutions to improve efficiency, reduce rework, and strengthen adoption of processes.
  • Develop, document, and maintain accounting processes and standard operating procedures to promote consistency and efficiency.

Compliance & Risk Management
  • Coordinate with external CPA firms, tax advisors, auditors, insurance vendors, and banking partners as directed.
  • Maintain audit readiness and appropriate documentation.
  • Support compliance with applicable accounting standards and tax requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable payroll tax requirements, wage and hour regulations, and payroll-related financial reporting obligations.

Team Leadership
  • Provide leadership, coaching, and development to direct reports.
  • Establish clear expectations, priorities, and accountability measures.
  • Foster a culture of ownership, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure employees receive practical, role-specific training and ongoing guidance necessary to perform their responsibilities successfully.
  • Move beyond broad communication by ensuring important initiatives and compliance requirements are understood, reinforced, and completed.
