Job description

The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) is responsible for the delivery of optimum quality care to patients while in the Excel Program.
This is a part-time (0.75 FTE) role working straight days,12-hour shifts 0700-1900 and partial shifts out of our Edina, Chaska, Plymouth locations.
Twin Cities Orthopedics is an operating division of Infinite Health Collaborative (i-Health), a group of local medical practices, owned and led by its physicians, on a mission to give patients more control over their healthcare.
Essential Functions:
  • Assist with treatments ordered by physician and supervised by a Registered Nurse (RN)
  • Tend to patients regarding personal care and activities of daily living
  • Coordinates with medical professionals regarding the patient's condition
  • Reports finding or changes in physical, mental, and emotional conditions to nursing staff
  • Assists the RN with diagnostic tests
  • Collects specimens and delivers them to the laboratory department
  • Maintain cleanliness, organization, and supply inventory in patent room
  • Assist with transfers and ambulation of patients
  • Turnover rooms to support patient discharges and admissions
  • Any and all other duties as assigned

Education and Experience Requirements:
  • CNA certification
  • 3-5 years of surgical floor nursing assistance experience
  • Current CPR certification is required.

  • Frequently lift up to 50 pounds independently and occasionally up to 100 pounds with assistance.
  • Requires the ability to stand, walk, bend, and move continuously throughout the shift.
  • Must be able to frequently perform physical activities such as pushing, pulling, and reaching.
  • Visual acuity to read electronic and paper documents.
  • Auditory ability to participate in phone or video calls clearly.
  • Manual dexterity to operate standard office equipment (e.g., computer, phone, printer).

  • Travel independently throughout the clinic, office or surgery center (which may include movement from floor to floor); frequent bending, lifting, standing, stooping or sitting for long periods of time may be required

  • Communicate and interact in a respectful and professional manner
  • Prioritize workload while being flexible to meet the expectations of the daily operations
  • Apply principles of logical thinking to define problems, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
  • Understand and execute a variety of instructions
  • Effectively operate equipment and communicate on and operate the phone system
  • Work independently with minimal supervision
  • Travel to other work locations, if required
