Role Overview
  • Observe construction practices for Transmission Line linear r/w's (restoration of disturbed earth work) and/or Substation Earth work (expansions and/or new Green Spaces)
  • Observe, monitor, and verify that all construction activities performed by prime and alliance contractors comply with company construction standards, specifications, approved engineering drawings, and applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure all work is executed in accordance with company specifications, safety requirements, environmental standards, and contractual obligations.
  • Confirm the correct materials are used and installed in the proper locations in accordance with approved plans and project requirements.
  • Identify, document, and capture field changes to design, including as-built conditions when required or directed by the Superintendent.
  • Evaluate construction activities for compliance with applicable city, state, and federal regulations, as well as discipline-specific codes and standards.
  • Observe, document, and verify that engineering requirements and corroborating standard specifications are consistently met.
  • Maintain daily communication with the Superintendent in charge to review work plans, priorities, schedules, and critical activities.
  • Maintain daily coordination with alliance contractor representatives to review schedules, quantities, progress, and upcoming work.
  • Communicate project status, issues, field changes, and concerns effectively to appropriate internal company stakeholders on a routine or daily basis.
  • Participate in daily morning meetings, job huddles, and required safety meetings.
  • Enforce high standards of safety by adhering to all company safety protocols, including PPE requirements, transportation safety requirements, and job-specific safety procedures.
  • Take all necessary precautions to protect company equipment, materials, facilities, customers, and the public, and represent the Company professionally at all times.
  • Issue and document Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), including stop-work orders when necessary, and track resolution of identified deficiencies.
  • Conduct required SWPPP inspections; provide primary input on SWPPP planning.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental initiatives.
  • Prioritize, organize, and manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously to meet quality standards, project milestones, and in-service goals.
  • Work collaboratively with engineers, project managers, inspectors, contractors, and internal team members to develop solutions and meet project deadlines.
  • Utilize Company-provided communication tools, including cellular phone and laptop computer (with printer), to support documentation, reporting, and coordination; office space is provided at designated locations.
  • Assist with onsite emergencies as required.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Civil Construction Operations Manager.

Qualifications
  • Strong background in construction, preferably within transmission line and/or substation projects.
  • Prior experience supervising construction work crews is preferred.
  • Proven ability to manage field activities, enforce standards, and communicate effectively with contractors and internal teams.
