The Exam Proctor supports faculty and academic programs by ensuring exams are
administered fairly, securely, and in accordance with established policies during scheduled
midterm and final exam periods.
We're looking for someone who
● Demonstrates a commitment to professional conduct and educational excellence
● Has experience working in higher education, a learning resource center, or a classroom
environment (preferred)
● Is proficient with Gmail and Google Workspace tools
● Maintains confidentiality regarding exam administration and student information
● Possesses excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
● Builds positive working relationships with students, faculty, and colleagues
● Demonstrates excellent attendance, reliability, and punctuality
● Can effectively follow procedures and maintain attention to detail in a structured
environment
What you'll do
● Complete required training and attend meetings before exam periods
● Administer and proctor exams during scheduled midterm and final examination periods
● Account for and secure all exam materials before, during, and after exams
● Record attendance using assigned seating charts
● Deliver exam instructions and policy reminders to students
● Actively monitor the testing environment and perform routine walkthroughs
● Remain present in the exam room throughout the testing period, except during scheduled
relief breaks
● Document and report suspected policy violations according to established procedures
● Monitor student breaks and maintain accurate break logs
● Communicate observations and concerns to instructors following exams
● Support a fair, secure, and distraction-free testing environment
Physical requirements
● Must be able to sit for extended periods while monitoring exams
● Must be able to perform computer-based administrative tasks
● Must be able to occasionally stand, walk, bend, twist, and move throughout the testing area
● Must be able to use fine motor skills for writing, filing, and handling exam materials
● Must be able to lift, carry, push, or pull items weighing up to 10 lbs.
