Job description

Everbridge's Personal Safety Device (PSD) product is focused on workforce and employee safety. Devices, connectivity, response center support and our Everbridge 360 platform enable enterprises of all sizes to keep lone and onsite workers safe to meet duty of care requirements.
We are seeking a Product Manager who will drive the evolution of Everbridge's connected personal safety ecosystem with a focus on device sourcing and integration, and the growth of Everbridge's PSD product line. This role will own the integration strategy across device/hardware vendors, monitoring providers, and future physical security use cases. This role will also manage a suite of connected safety services coordinating location intelligence, communications, monitoring workflows, and interoperability between devices, vendors, and Everbridge platforms. This role will both manage the engineering requirements and roadmap for a subset of services, while partnering with other product managers to influence the requirements and roadmap for adjacent services.
The PSD product line, like many of Everbridge's products, are trusted to protect people and communities. As such, this role requires a detail oriented and analytical person to ensure quality is driven from both the vendor side(s) as well as at the integration within our platforms. In partnership internally with compliance, security and legal teams, to meet stringent security and compliance requirements, for example SOC2 and ISO certification status.
The ideal applicant will have a product life-cycle focus, and be eager to test and vet devices, firmware and new releases and bring the appropriate teams together for the best outcomes.
This is a highly cross-functional role at the intersection of hardware, connectivity, and software platforms, ideal for someone who is deeply curious about technology and enjoys working with emerging device ecosystems.
What you'll do:
  • Manage the full lifecycle of safety devices, from onboarding to end-of-life
  • Align device roadmaps to the overall PSD product strategy
  • Coordinate firmware updates, release planning, and device health improvements
  • Plan and evolve vendor and platform integrations as required
  • Partner with engineering and vendors to ensure device reliability, performance, and scalability
  • Define life of device processes including renewals, replacements, trade-in/out etc.
  • Support the identification, evaluation, and onboarding of new device partners aligned with PSD roadmap
  • Assess trade-offs across cost vs performance, battery life vs capability, and connectivity and Telemetry options (cellular, BLE, Wi-Fi, satellite)
  • Lead evaluation and onboarding of hardware vendors, including security posture, certification/compliance readiness, scalability, and operational interoperability with Everbridge platforms.
  • Define requirements for future device capabilities and form factors based on overall PSD roadmap
  • Own the roadmap for vendor integrations
  • Partner with internal product teams to influence and align roadmap deliverables:
    • Leverage device and use case functionality to drive cohesive, impactful features to the platform
    • Develop product requirements documents
    • Deliver and align with product team(s) acting as the SME to drive use case and user problem statement understanding
    • Evaluate solution design, prioritization and delivery schedule to meet overall business needs
    • Coordinate for release readiness to include demos, trainings and documentation

  • Drive integration of new devices and partners into the Everbridge 360 platform
  • Work closely with product and engineering on APIs, device telemetry ingestion, alert workflows, and device, platform or other external status (ex: battery state, signal, etc)
  • Ensure seamless interoperability between hardware and EB360
  • Serve as the primary product interface for device vendors, managing relationships with hardware providers, their firmware teams, and ecosystem partners
  • Coordinate delivery timelines, technical alignment, and issue resolution and roadmap with response centers to evolve workflow features

What you'll bring:
  • 4-6 years of experience in product management, hardware, IoT, or related technical roles
  • Strong understanding of connected devices and IoT ecosystems
  • Familiarity with System-on-Chip (SoC) architectures and chipsets (e.g., Qualcomm or similar)
  • Basic understanding of network technologies, including, LTE / LTE-M / NB-IoT, Bluetooth (BLE), Wi-Fi, and Satellite knowledge is a plus
  • Ability to evaluate technical trade-offs across hardware, connectivity, and cost
  • Experience working with external vendors or partners
  • Comfortability partnering to influence cross-team roadmaps
  • Strong organizational and communication skills

Preferred Background
  • Experience at companies such as semiconductor vendors, IoT platforms, device manufacturers, or other connected hardware ecosystems
  • Exposure to firmware development cycles or embedded systems
  • Experience supporting hardware-software integrations

The reasonably estimated salary for this role at Everbridge ranges from $106,000 - $141,000 and may also include variable compensation. Actual compensation is based on factors such as the candidate's skills, qualifications, and experience.
