About the Roleย 

The Event Operations & Sales Lead serves as a key member of The Ground's Events team, providing hands-on support for event execution, client service, and sales coordination. This role is ideal for an experienced event professional who thrives in fast-paced environments, enjoys both client-facing and operational work, and can confidently manage event logistics from final preparation through day-of execution.ย 


The primary focus of this role is ensuring exceptional event experiences through onsite event management and operational support. During non-event hours, this individual will assist the Sales & Events team with client communication, event coordination, and administrative sales support.ย 


Responsibilitiesย 


Event Operations & Day-of Event Managementย 

  • Serve as on-site Event Lead for weddings, corporate events, social gatherings, and catered events, as assignedย 
  • Act as the primary point of contact for clients, vendors, and event staff during event executionย 
  • Manage event timelines, logistics, and day-of problem solving to ensure a seamless guest experienceย 
  • Conduct event walkthroughs and pre-event preparationsย 
  • Coordinate event setup, service flow, and breakdown activitiesย 
  • Participate in event setup, room resets, breakdown, and other operational tasks as needed, leading by example and supporting the event team throughout execution.ย 
  • Ensure all event details are executed according to contracts, EOs, and client expectationsย 
  • Support off-site catering events as needed, including load-in, setup, service oversight, and strikeย 

Sales & Client Supportย 

  • Assist with responding to client inquiries and ongoing communication with active leadsย 
  • Follow up on proposals, contracts, and event details as directed by the Sales & Events teamย 
  • Support event planning and coordination for booked clientsย 
  • Help maintain accurate event records, timelines, and client information within event management systemsย 
  • Provide timely responses to client questions and requestsย 
  • Assist with venue tours and client meetings, as neededย 

Team & Operational Supportย 

  • Communicate event staffing needs and operational requirements to appropriate team membersย 
  • Coordinate with vendors and internal departments to support successful event executionย 
  • Assist with maintaining event equipment, supplies, and inventory organizationย 
  • Support development and refinement of event operating proceduresย 
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support the Events and Hospitality teamsย 

Qualificationsย ย 

  • 3+ years of event management, venue operations, hospitality, catering, or wedding/event planning experienceย 
  • Demonstrated experience independently managing events and serving as the onsite leadย 
  • Strong customer service and client relationship skillsย 
  • Exceptional organizational and communication abilitiesย 
  • Ability to remain calm, professional, and solutions-oriented in dynamic event environmentsย 
  • Experience with event management software; TripleSeat experience preferredย 
  • Experience with Toast or other POS systems preferredย 
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a teamย 
  • Flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and occasional holidaysย 
  • Reliable transportation and valid driver's licenseย 

Physical Requirementsย 

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periodsย 
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 35 pounds regularlyย 
  • Ability to work both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditionsย 

Scheduleย 

15-30 hours/week, depending on seasonality. This position may be structured as either:ย 

  • A part-time employee position with a flexible schedule based on event needs, orย 
  • An independent contractor role supporting events and sales coordination on an as-needed basis.ย 

Hours will vary based on seasonality and event volume and may include evenings, weekends, and occasional weekdays.ย
