Job description

Newport News, Virginia Hiring Range $18.20 - $23.68/Hourly. Actual pay is determined based on job-related factors such as relevant experience, education, credentials, skills, internal equity, and business needs. Overview Primarily responsible for coordinating development and ensuring smooth execution of activities available for participation by IL residents to enhance the quality of their health and well being. Coordinate with marketing, administration, and other activities staff and residents for the promotion of activities that enhance quality of life for residents. Plan, implement and evaluate the activity program, which provides leisure opportunities that will meet the interest and needs of the residents. What you will do Programs are consistently set-up and started in accordance with monthly calendar. In the absence of Events Planner, activities are to be conducted as previously planned and scheduled and in accordance with departmental policies and procedures. Flexible with hours to promote quality programming based on residents schedules, preferences, and needs/wants. Reaches out to other organizations/people to aid in promoting their services, providing a place to meet, and to educate the community, both residents and team members. Initiates contact with physicians to schedule educational events geared toward resident's wellness and interests. Provides programming to Independent Living residents that incorporates all areas of wellness and meets residents needs. Provides general support services, including but not limited to, customer service and reception responsibilities, data entry and general clerical support as requested contributing to efficient support operations in the Administration office. Uses free time between workload assignments to complete the following: Maintain a safe (and/or clean) work environment; ensure that departmental supplies are stocked, updates files. Develops and prepares a monthly calendar of events and activities based on departmental standards and resident requests. Develops and prepares a monthly newsletter per departmental standards. Completes these items by required deadline. Consistently provides quality programs within the approved budget and with minimal resident complaints.
