Description The 2026 starting rate of pay is $25.58 - $28.07 per hour with advancement to $35.86 per hour. Grade: STA1 FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Safety Sensitive Position: No Supervisor Title: Facilities Operations Supervisor - Civic Center Minimum Qualifications of Education and Experience: Demonstrated experience in event operations management, logistics and planning, and/or facility maintenance. A High School Diploma or GED equivalency

Must possess a valid driver's license and be able to drive in the state of Minnesota. OR Any satisfactory equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the duties of the job proficiently may be substituted for the above requirements. Nature of Work: Under the direct supervision of the Facilities Operations Supervisor - Civic Center, the responsibilities of the Event Operations Specialist include, but are not limited to, event set up and tear down, event logistics planning, facility maintenance and facility cleaning at the Mayo Clinic Event Center and Vetter Stone Amphitheater.

This position will help hire, train and oversee the contracted labor working as the event operations crews. Duties / Responsibilities Primary Essential Work Functions: Assist sales/events staff with event planning logistics and execution of events.

Assist with hospitality, operational and security staff, pre-event, event day and post event to ensure client & facility maintain objectives while adjusting to additional needs and requests. Serve as facility representative for operations related activities including equipment load in, set up, and tear down, ice rink/arena turnovers. Assist in hiring temporary event staff, provide training, instruction, guidance, and oversight of all contracted labor working as event operations.

Schedule event operational staffing for all scheduled events and facility projects, ensuring staffing levels are adequate to complete required jobs and tasks. Maintain inventory of equipment and supplies required to continually maintain facility and event requirements. Performs and ensures preventative maintenance with operational and facilities service area on facility equipment and fixtures.

Provide a safe and secure environment on event and non-event days, ensuring facility integrity (locked doors and access points), staff, client, & patron safety and recognizing when additional support; Public Safety, EMT or Contracted Security is required. Responds to facility and equipment requiring maintenance and housekeeping ensuring facility and equipment is in good working order. Monitor and work within facility budget to ensure expenditures are justifiable and warranted.

Communicates With: Internally - Event Center staff, contracted staff, other City staff/departments Externally - vendors, clients, OSHA/regularity, and safety agencies Supervision: Contracted Event Staff Other Work Functions: Performs physical and mental demands and work environment requirements for this position. Attendance during regularly scheduled work hours and outside regular hours as necessary. Effective and respectful communication and interactions with other employees, supervisors, individuals from other organizations, and community customers.

Qualifications / Conditions of Employment Conditions of Employment: Must possess a valid Minnesota Class D driver's license and be able to drive. Must successfully complete a physical examination and background check.

Must obtain a forklift certification within three (3) months of start date. Must meet expectations of the work functions and knowledge, skills, and abilities for the position. Must comply with organizational and departmental policies.

Must comply with data practices policies and standards relative to not public data. Any access to not public data should be strictly limited to accessing the data that are necessary to fulfill the employment responsibility. While data are being accessed, incumbent should take reasonable measures to ensure the not public data are not accessed by individuals without a work reason.

Once the work reason to access the data is reasonably finished the not public data must be properly stored according to city policy and the Minnesota Statutes. Hours of Work This position will work abbreviated normal office hours, plus night, holiday, and weekend hours. This position is responsible for event preparation, presentation, and move out periods.

Continuous hours of work may be varied and long as events and productions determine working hours.
