Description of the Position:
Student Senior Event Fellows are returning College Events student staff responsible for many of the activities related to the efficient operation of the College Events office. This includes but is not limited to event location set-up, delivery of specialty items, catering support, office administration, and miscellaneous projects as assigned. Senior Event Fellows will work an average of 10-15 hours per week, between the hours of 6:30 am to 10:00 pm. Senior Event Fellows may work shifts on Saturday & Sunday as needed. Preference may be given to candidates with a valid drivers' license, though it is not required.

Duties and Responsibilities:
      Serve as point of contact for space setups: deliver, set up, manage meeting spaces which could include, but not limited to, tables/chairs, stages, media equipment, and signage.
      Perform customer service operations such as handling guest arrival & departure, explaining procedures, giving directions, and reporting needs/concerns. 

      Provide on-site support for programming and engage critically with event operations: follow a run of show, anticipate event needs, and communicate frequently and efficiently with College Events staff. Events shifts will include evenings and weekends.

      Lead training of Events Assistants, including scheduling/leading trainings, maintaining training resources, and ongoing/on-call management of WhatsApp. 

      Draft agenda for weekly team meeting and rotate leading alongside other Event Fellows.

      Supervise Events Assistants in biweekly 1:1s and support hiring processes.

      Manage staffing schedule of Events Assistants and support scheduling for setups.

      Work with a variety of St. Olaf departments to assure the success of all events.
      General office work: Storage organization, data entry, calling clients, preparing registration materials, inventory, errands, etc.
      Driving: Those who meet the St. Olaf fleet vehicle driving requirements will be asked to drive campus vehicles around campus and into Northfield. 

      This role requires lifting up to 25 lbs and standing for long periods of time. 

      Completing additional duties as assigned.


Qualifications: (Education/Experience/Skills)
Must be a current St. Olaf student in good academic and disciplinary standing. Previous experience as a Student and/or Summer Event Fellow or equivalent experience in hospitality, event management, and/or technology and media is required.  Preference may be given to candidates with a valid drivers' license, though it is not required.

Physical and Environmental Factors:

This position requires crouching, kneeling/crawling, stooping, twisting/pivoting, climbing/balancing, reaching overhead, grasping/handling, pushing/pulling, lifting objects up to 20 lbs., repetitive motions, and driving to perform the essential functions. It also requires exposure to loud noise and rare exposure to extreme cold, extreme heat, and heights or cramped quarters to perform the essential functions. Candidates must possess the ability to safely perform the physical work required of all duties with or without reasonable accommodation.
