Job description

The Role

GovExec is seeking a highly organized, client-service-driven professional to support the execution and growth of our events business. This role sits at the intersection of client experience, event operations, and content programming.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, polished in communication, and comfortable managing multiple moving pieces at once. They should thrive in a fast-paced environment and be equally comfortable coordinating with clients, recruiting speakers, proofreading content, and helping deliver a high-quality event experience through strong agenda development and speaker programming. Experience working in a marketing agency, client services, or other highly client-facing environment is strongly preferred, particularly in roles requiring proactive communication, relationship management, and attention to detail across multiple stakeholders and deliverables.

This role will play a key role in helping our events and content teams deliver seamless, high-impact programs from planning through execution while ensuring an exceptional experience for clients, sponsors, speakers, and attendees.

Responsibilities

Client & Stakeholder Management

  • Serve as a day-to-day point of contact for sponsors, speakers, partners, and event stakeholders
  • Deliver a high-touch, responsive client experience throughout the event lifecycle
  • Manage communication timelines, follow-ups, deadlines, and deliverables across multiple stakeholders
  • Support sponsor fulfillment and ensure all client-facing elements are accurate and professionally executed
  • Build strong internal and external relationships through proactive communication and organization

Event Content & Speaker Programming

  • Support development and execution of event agendas and programming
  • Recruit, coordinate, and manage speakers for live and virtual events
  • Manage speaker outreach, confirmations, scheduling, prep calls, and logistical communication
  • Collect and organize speaker materials including bios, headshots, presentations, and session descriptions
  • Ensure event content and speaker information are accurate, polished, and aligned across platforms

Content Review & Quality Control

  • Proofread and review websites, email campaigns, agendas, promotional materials, and event communications
  • Ensure consistency, accuracy, grammar, and overall quality across client-facing materials
  • Help identify and resolve content gaps, inconsistencies, or operational issues before launch
  • Maintain strong attention to detail across all deliverables and communications

Event Operations & Execution

  • Support planning and execution of in-person and virtual events
  • Coordinate across sales, marketing, content/editorial, and operations teams to keep projects moving forward
  • Help manage project timelines, trackers, and event logistics
  • Troubleshoot issues quickly and professionally in a fast-paced environment

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in client services, marketing agencies, events, conference production, account management, or related fields
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Experience working in highly client-facing or agency-style environments preferred
  • Experience coordinating speakers, content, or event logistics is a plus
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines simultaneously
  • Professional, proactive, and solutions-oriented mindset
  • Comfortable working cross-functionally with multiple departments and stakeholders
  • Experience with project management systems, event platforms, CRM tools, or marketing systems is a plus

The compensation range for this role is $100,000 to $125,000 per year.
