About the Role

Mississauga Convention Centre is looking for an enthusiastic, organized, customer-focused, and sales-driven Event Coordinator / Junior Sales Representative to join our team.

This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working with people, coordinating events, building client relationships, and helping bring celebrations and special occasions to life.

You will support clients from the initial inquiry and sales process through event planning and successful event execution, while providing excellent customer service throughout the process.


Key Responsibilities


  • Respond to event inquiries by phone, email, and in person in a timely and professional manner.

  • Conduct venue tours and explain event spaces, packages, services, and offerings.

  • Generate new sales leads and follow up with prospective clients.

  • Prepare and send quotes, proposals, contracts, and event information.

  • Build and maintain strong client relationships from initial inquiry through the event date.

  • Assist clients with event planning, including room setup, timelines, catering, décor, entertainment, and other requirements.

  • Coordinate with internal departments and external vendors to ensure smooth event execution.

  • Prepare and maintain event schedules, function sheets, client notes, and booking information.

  • Confirm event details with clients before the event.

  • Assist with event setup, coordination, and on-site support as required.

  • Identify opportunities to upsell venue services, packages, and additional products.

  • Follow up with clients after events to encourage repeat business and referrals.

  • Maintain accurate records of inquiries, bookings, payments, and client communications.

  • Assist with social media, promotions, open houses, networking, and other sales and marketing activities.

  • Ensure the venue presentation and client experience consistently meet company standards.

  • Handle client questions, concerns, and last-minute requests professionally.

  • Work with management to achieve monthly sales and booking targets.

  • Perform other event and venue-related duties as required.
