Their duties include greeting guests, managing check-ins, handling requests or inquiries, coordinating with other staff, and ensuring a safe and welcoming environment. They may also arrange transportation, make reservations, and provide information about local attractions or services. The evening concierge plays a key role in maintaining high service standards and addressing any issues that arise during their shift.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as an evening concierge, and why are they important?

These qualities ensure guests receive attentive, seamless service and enhance the reputation and efficiency of the establishment during evening hours.

What are some common challenges an evening concierge faces and how can they be addressed?

Evening Concierges often handle unique challenges such as managing increased guest requests during peak check-in hours, responding to after-hours emergencies, and ensuring guest safety during quieter periods. Effective communication and problem-solving skills are essential to address these situations efficiently. Building strong relationships with other staff, such as security and housekeeping, can help resolve issues quickly and ensure smooth operations throughout the evening shift.

Please Review the Schedule Before Applying
This opening is specifically for full-time and part-time evening schedules from 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM.
Schedule:
Mondayโ€“Friday or Saturdayโ€“Sunday, 3:00 PMโ€“11:00 PM
Employment Type: Full-Time or Part-Time
Location: Various sites across DC, VA, and MD
Pay: $19โ€“$20 per hour
Compass does not currently have morning or daytime shifts available through this posting. Please apply only if you can consistently work one of the complete schedules above and reliably commute to your assigned property.
The Role
At Compass Concierge, we donโ€™t just staff a desk. We create an experience.
As a Residential Concierge, you help create a welcoming, organized, and secure environment for residents, guests, vendors, and property-management teams.
The 3:00 PMโ€“11:00 PM shift is an active part of the residential experience. Residents are returning home, guests are arriving, deliveries increase, and the community transitions into the evening.
We are looking for warm, polished, dependable professionals who can manage that activity confidently while providing attentive and professional service.
This is not a passive front-desk position. Successful Concierges remain engaged, observant, and ready to assist throughout the shift.
What Youโ€™ll Do

  • Greet and assist residents, guests, vendors, and prospective residents
  • Manage visitor access, packages, deliveries, and resident requests
  • Follow property-specific access and security procedures
  • Communicate professionally with residents, property management, and Compass leadership
  • Maintain accurate shift notes, incident documentation, and building records
  • Monitor lobby activity and maintain an organized front-desk environment
  • Respond appropriately to unexpected situations and emergencies
  • Learn and follow the procedures and expectations of your assigned property

What Weโ€™re Looking For

  • Strong customer-service and communication skills
  • Dependable attendance and punctuality
  • Professional judgment and the ability to work independently
  • Calm and professional handling of difficult situations
  • Strong attention to detail and written communication
  • Comfort learning technology and property-management systems
  • Professional appearance and workplace conduct
  • A reliable transportation or commuting plan

Previous residential Concierge experience is a plus, but not required. We welcome candidates from hospitality, hotels, property management, luxury retail, corporate reception, private clubs, senior living, and other high-touch customer-service environments.
What You Can Expect from Compass

  • Paid orientation and property-specific training
  • Clear site procedures and performance expectations
  • Support from Compass Operations and Human Resources
  • Recognition for strong performance and reliability
  • Opportunities for advancement into Lead Concierge, training, and management roles
  • Benefits for eligible full-time employees

The Right Fit
You may be a strong fit if you naturally notice when someone needs assistance, stay composed when things get busy, communicate professionally, and take ownership of your work without constant supervision.
If that sounds like you, weโ€™d love to hear from you.
